"The Church always needs songs that speak of the Holy Spirit’s role in salvation and our lives. Jesus told his disciples in John 15:26, “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.”

His words remind us that the Spirit’s primary work isn’t simply to produce emotionally heightened experiences but to open our eyes to the glory, majesty, and goodness of Jesus Christ."

Written by Nathan Stiff and David Zimmer
From the Album "Yours Alone"

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:1) Over and over again God's Word both commands and models thankfulness. It's so important that in the first chapter of Romans, Paul roots every sin in a failure to give thanks to God (Romans 1:21). The stakes couldn't be higher. And yet we all too easily find ourselves complaining, more aware of what we want than what we've been given.

"We Are Thankful" reminds us that gratefulness isn't an option for those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. And it's not only appropriate now. It's what we'll be doing for all eternity, praising the God who is always good, always faithful, always worthy of our thanks.

DETAILS:
Texas Regional Youth Retreat 2026
June 4–6, 2026

LOCATION:
Lifegate Church
395 Lifegate Ln
Seguin, TX 78155

DESCRIPTION:

To “behold” something is to look urgently, intently, and contemplatively.

We rarely use the word “Behold!” nowadays but did you know your Bible uses it over 1,000 times, often calling us to: “Look now, look eagerly, and look long…at your God!” It’s often an invitation to better see who the Lord is and what he has done. And why? Well, for many reasons:

We know him more by beholding him.
We know his glory over all things by beholding him.
We know his goodness towards us by beholding him.
We are comforted, refreshed, encouraged, enlivened, overjoyed, emboldened, humbled, and among many other things, we are transformed to live lives that reflect his glory, by beholding him.
This is what Paul declares to the church at Corinth when he says, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

We’re praying to this end for our 2026 Youth & Parent retreat: That as we gather, the Lord would open our eyes and hearts to truly behold our God and be transformed.

*NOTE: Due to space limitations at our facility in Seguin, we are needing to cap the attendance this year to 280. That means we are unfortunately having to limit attendees for the retreat to only those youth and parents who are officially eligible to register (no younger siblings). If you have any questions about this, please reach out to your pastors.

Excerpt from Ricky Alcantar's article on Sovereign Grace churches, "Hold Fast, Held Fast"

------"Our Heartbeat

Think of it “hold fast, held fast” as our heartbeat as a family of churches. It’s not everything you should know about us. But it tells you what’s beating at our center.

I love the image of a heartbeat. Just as there is a push and pull with our heartbeat there is a push and pull to our ministry. We push forward to hold fast to the right things, but we are secured and are held fast by Christ.

You see this heartbeat in Hebrews 10:23-25 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for yhe who promised is faithful.” Both elements are there – the bold call to hold on to the right things, and the comfort that God holds on to us.

And in a sermon on Hebrews 10:23-25 Spurgeon preaches, “While we hold fast the profession of our faith, the blessed truths of that faith may also hold us fast as an anchor holds a ship! Never was there a time in which this was more needful. That exhortation, ‘Let us hold fast,’ might well be written on the cover of every Christian’s Bible. We live in such a changeful age, that we need all to be exhorted to be rooted and grounded, confirmed and established, in the truth.”"
