Pipe Organ Pedal Altar/Hall Table/Bar

This is a once-in-a-lifetime creation crafted by local woodworker David Keeber of Keeber Custom Woodcraft. The body of the piece is comprised of the pedal assembly from a pipe organ, the pedals of which still function. Paired with an American walnut live edge slab top with black epoxy fill and ash wood bowtie wedges for stability, as well lighting within, it can serve as an altar, a hall table, or even a bar. Lit, it provides a lovely and subtle glow that can be raised and lowered in volume, and switched from warm to cool light via a handheld TV-like remote control. Measuring 37” tall X 65” long X 16” deep, it will make a singular statement in your home. For sale for $3,000. Contact David at 928-451-1250 or [email protected]. In a time when attendance at churches and such is dropping off, why take up Zen meditation? While Zen Buddhism has aspects of a religion, meditation itself was presented to us all by Siddhartha Gautama of India as a way to relieve our suffering by going within to address how we create that suffering. And who doesn't need to reduce suffering, even just a little bit?
Join us on Thursday evenings at 7 PM to learn this important way to navigate our world. We offer one-on-one instruction and interviews with Zen teachers, two periods of meditation and others who are both seasoned practitioners and beginners.

Beginning late this month, we will also offer Sunday Services. These will include Liturgy, two periods of meditation, opportunities for interviews with the Teachers, and of course, the benefits of Sangha/community. More information to follow soon.

We meet at Emerald Waves Soulutions at 90 Bell Rock Plaza, above Hairizona across from Red Chopsticks. Contact Mushin Sensei at 928-451-1250, or [email protected] for more information. Please arrive by 6.50 PM to allow us to start promptly at 7 PM.

Some people believe that Buddhism is nihilistic, based on Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha, having stated in the Four Noble Truths that “Life is characterized by suffering.” The meaning of this is that suffering is a fact of life to which we are all subject. But he also noted that there is a cause to our suffering, solutions to our suffering, and a Path to end that suffering. Sitting zazen (meditation) offers the opportunity to see that suffering and its causes in one’s own life, and to address it.
Join us on Thursday evenings to sit zazen and start the process of your own healing. We gather at 7 PM each week (please arrive by 6.50 PM so we can start promptly at 7) at VOC’s Emerald Waves Soulutions, 90 Bell Rock Plaza, in the yoga studio above Hairzona and across from Red Chopsticks. We offer two periods of zazen, interviews with the teachers, and the strength of sangha (community) as we delve into the causes and resolutions to our suffering.
