Grief has a way of showing up in everyday moments, whether you hear a song that brings back a memory, come across an old picture, or simply have a moment when you wish you could talk to someone you miss. Those moments can be difficult, and you do not have to pretend they are not.

In John 11, we see that Jesus understands what it means to grieve because when Lazarus died, Jesus stood alongside people who were hurting and wept with them. Even though He knew resurrection was coming, He still made room for their sorrow, which shows us that grief is not something we have to hide from God or rush our way through.

Following Jesus does not mean that every hard feeling disappears, because we can trust God deeply while still missing someone deeply. There may be days when we have questions, days when the memories bring tears, and days when we simply need the people around us to help us keep going, but through every one of those days, God remains close.

Grief may be part of our story, but it does not get the final word because our hope is found in Jesus. His resurrection reminds us that death is not the end, and His presence reminds us that we never have to walk through loss alone.

If you are grieving, give yourself permission to lean on God and the people He has placed around you. We were never meant to carry the hardest parts of life by ourselves, and there is a family here that will pray with you, sit with you, and walk with you through it. 🙌

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life.’” John 11:25

Have you ever read a few chapters of the Bible and then realized you could barely remember what you just read? You heard the words, but you were not really listening.

There is a difference between hearing God’s Word and slowing down enough to pay attention to what He is saying. Sometimes we can become so focused on finishing the chapter, completing the reading plan, or getting through our time in the Word that we miss what God is showing us right in front of us.

Sometimes God gives us a red light because we need to slow down. You might not need five chapters today. You might need two verses that you read carefully, think about, and allow God to use in your life. Those few verses may be exactly where He wants to guide you, restore you, or help you understand what you need for the season you are in.

Reading more is not the same as listening better. When you open your Bible, give yourself permission to slow down and stay with what God is showing you. Instead of measuring your time by how much you finished, pay attention to what you are actually receiving.

God’s Word is not something we need to rush through. Let Him lead you through it, even if that means spending your time with just a few verses and really listening. 🙌

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” James 1:19

Waiting is not exactly anyone’s favorite part of trusting God. We pray, we hope, and then we check in like, “Okay God, any updates?” 😅

If you are somewhere in the middle right now, do not get discouraged. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep taking the next step God puts in front of you. You may not see the whole picture yet, but God is still working while you wait.

Sometimes the middle is not where you are stuck. It is where God is growing you.

Anxiety can make everything feel louder than it really is. The questions, the what-ifs, and the weight of things we cannot control can quickly fill our hearts and minds. But God invites us into something different. He invites us into His peace.

Over the next five days, we are choosing to RESTORE our hearts and minds by returning to what is true. We can receive the peace Jesus gives, release what we were never meant to carry, turn our worries into prayer, fix our thoughts on God’s truth, and walk forward with the sound mind His Spirit provides.

You do not have to have every answer today. Bring what is weighing on you into God’s presence. Pray about it. Fill your mind with His Word. Trust Him one day at a time. His peace is available even when your circumstances have not changed yet.

Swipe through these five reminders, save them for the days when anxiety feels heavy, and share them with someone who could use some encouragement. We are learning together as a family to trust God with every part of our lives. 🧡

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Four weeks can make a difference when we choose to grow together. Our Men’s and Women’s Groups are beginning 4 Weeks in Proverbs, a time to gather around God’s Word, encourage one another, and gain practical wisdom for everyday life.

Proverbs reminds us that wisdom touches every part of our lives, including our relationships, decisions, families, work, and walk with God. Whether you have studied the Bible for years or you are simply looking for a place to connect and grow, there is a seat for you.

Come be part of these meaningful conversations as we strengthen our faith and build stronger relationships together.

Sometimes we wonder why we feel spiritually dry when the real question might be, “What have I been running to instead of God?”

Idols do not always look obvious. Sometimes they are the things we depend on for satisfaction, identity, comfort, or direction. Material things, ambitions, pride, addictions, emotions, and even our own beliefs can slowly become more important to us than God. When something consistently receives the trust and devotion that belong to Him, it can begin taking His place in our hearts without us fully realizing it.

This is where we have to break up the fallow ground. Sometimes we keep asking God for new growth while ignoring what has been taking over the soil. The seed of God’s Word is still good, but we have to be willing to deal with the things in our hearts that keep us from receiving it.

Take a look at what you run to first when life gets difficult, when you feel uncertain, or when you are looking for fulfillment. If something else has become the place you continually turn to instead of God, it may be time to break up some ground and put God back where He belongs.

When we remove what has been competing for our trust and devotion, we make room to receive the seed of God’s Word again. God wants His Word to do more than land on the surface of our lives. He wants it to take root, grow, and produce something in us. 🙏

“Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.” Hosea 10:12
