To the death... for LIFE! Esther 4:7-14 We aren't like any other church, and that is a good thing.

You have hurts, let us help. If you haven't felt accepted in other churches, give us a try.

10:30 a.m. Sundays

Be warned, we are different. But you are gonna have to come and check us out to see. What our typical service looks like

The overall atmosphere is free and friendly, a place where kids can be kids. As Christ was not and is not religious, neither are we. Instead we hope you will find u

s relational. Attire Worn: As pastor, I do not own special clothes bought for Sunday service. I do however, wear the best clothes I own (Exodus 19:9-15). In the service you will see people dressed in slacks & button-up shirts, blue jeans and t-shirts (all with & without sleeves), and shorts and tank tops. Shoes orflip flops to formals. I believe to own special clothing for church cannot be found in Christ's life or teachings, therefore it will not be found at Olive Branch. Sermons: Being a 21st century pastor is something I take very seriously. The style of preaching is modernly ancient. I use music, movie clips, and youtube clips, along with traditional stories and book quotes to transfer Kingdom understanding in everyday life. The messages are designed to expose our spiritual condition to ourselves (James 1:23-25), then reveal God's plan on how to accept His healing in our lives. Music: We have no musicians. We worship together through an overhead, with most music from original artists. Our message music can be anywhere from Johnny Cash to Metallica, and Led Zeppelin to Rihanna. Our worship music follows along the same lines, with Casting Crowns, Third Day, Skillet, and so on. Children's Church: Christ's messages were always spoken on the level of whom it was directed at. At Olive Branch we worship together as a family until the time of the message (or sermon). The Children's pastor then takes them to deliver a message at their level of understanding, as to not hinder them from coming to Him. (Matthew 19:13-15). We look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday! Jason McClain, Pastor

"Father forgive them, they know not what they do." ❀️

12/02/2024

Remember when Jesus was resolute in going to Jerusalem to be crucified?
Remember how one of the towns directly in his path would NOT welcome him or even allow him to enter because THEY were not the main focus?
Remember how Jesus didn't get hung up or distracted by them or the situation....he simply went another way .....the "loving" disciples, however, wanted to call down fire upon the village πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

Today, this week, month, year, are you gonna be resolute in what the Father has called you to or are you gonna get hung up on the fact that the way you wanted to go wasn't available....will you be open to another way or will you fight for YOUR plan to walk out the Father's purpose ? Will you remained focused on the Father's call to your purpose or will you shift your focus towards those that would deny you , even to the point of wanting to use what God has gifted you with to hurt them and all they have ?

Choose well , choose the cross remain focused....the haters are desperately depending on you to love them.
1 Love the Father above all else 2 love your neighbor as yourself.

Peace be to you brothers and sisters πŸ™πŸΌ

Oddly enough, we are an inner-city church

One of the things we as humans struggle with the most is making things into idols . This is illustrated all through the Bible.
The most detrimental to a Christians walk is whenever we make the church, the Bible, the disciples, our pastor, our own walk/calling, Jesus or even God into an idol .
Idols our made by us, we lift them up in an image of OUR choosing. It is us that decide whenever they fall and break.
A bit of this can be seen whenever Peter tried to rebuke Jesus for speaking of His upcoming crucifixion. Jesus quickly referred to Peter as "satan" .
Imagine if you had literally given up EVERYTHING to follow a pastor. Imagine if that pastor shared something you saw as uncomfortable or "speaking negatively" about an upcoming event( as in this case with Peter and Jesus). Then, whenever you try to "correct" him, he calls you satan. If you idolized him, that church, your calling, even yourself fir having made such a tremendous sacrifice to follow them , then the idol would definitely fall and shatter at that point along with all the others in sequence afyer that! If Jesus is your Lord and savior and NOT you friend or foe (idol) then you would be able to continue on the path the Father had calle you to .

Be careful, it's more than likely that you've made numerous things within your life into idols and graven images. Jesus WILL give opportunity for them to be broken off of you ...for your image of those "things" to be shatterd off of the good and righteous thing it was ment to be. Hold to Jesus the Savior and NOT to the image YOU'VE cast upon it .
