DAY 24 | WHAT TIME IS IT?

“The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.”
Romans 13:11

God has always marked time differently than we do.

In Leviticus 23, He calls the feasts His appointed times. They weren’t random holidays. They were sacred appointments woven into Israel’s calendar to remember what God had done and to rehearse what He would yet do.

And they tell a remarkable story.

Passover points us to Yeshua, our Passover Lamb. Firstfruits points to His resurrection. Pentecost reminds us of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

And then comes the harvest.

That is where we are now.

We live between what Yeshua accomplished in His first coming and what He will complete when He returns.

So perhaps the question for Teshuvah isn’t simply, “Do I know what time it is on God’s calendar?”

It’s:

Do I know what time it is in my own heart?

It is possible to recognize biblical seasons and still miss what God is saying.

To study prophecy and remain spiritually asleep.

To know the appointed times while continually postponing the appointment God is trying to have with us right now.

Teshuvah reminds us that there is a time to return.

And that time is today.

The Fall Feasts ahead point toward awakening, cleansing, dwelling, and ultimately the return of our King. But their purpose isn’t merely to give us information about what is coming.

They should change how we live while we wait.

REFLECT

If this truly is the season of waiting for the Returning King, does my life reflect it?

What has God been asking me to address that I keep postponing?

Am I more interested in understanding the signs of the times than allowing God to transform me in this time?

PRAY

Father, teach me to recognize Your appointed times without missing Your invitation today. Wake me from distraction, complacency, and delay. Show me what needs to change while there is still time to change it. Yeshua, prepare my heart to live faithfully in the harvest as I wait for You.

Don’t just recognize the season. Respond to the One who appointed it.

DAY 23 | HUMBLE YOURSELF

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10

Yesterday the call was to wake up. But awakening is only the beginning.

Once God gets our attention, what will we do with what He shows us?

Teshuvah requires humility because we cannot return to God while defending the very things He is asking us to turn from.

Pride explains.
Pride defends.
Pride compares.
Pride blames.
Pride says, Yes, but…

Humility comes before God and says:

“You are right.”

True humility is not thinking poorly of ourselves. It is seeing ourselves truthfully in the light of who God is.

When Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up, he didn’t begin by identifying what was wrong with everyone around him. In the presence of God’s holiness, he saw his own heart clearly.

That is part of the gift of these 40 days of Teshuvah.

We aren’t examining ourselves to become better at appearing righteous. We are inviting the Holy Spirit to uncover anything keeping us from wholehearted return.

A motive we haven’t recognized.
An offense we’ve justified.
A pattern we’ve blamed on someone else.
A place where we want God’s blessing without God’s correction.

When He reveals it, we have a choice.

We can defend ourselves.

Or we can bow.

And there is something beautiful about the heart that finally stops arguing with God.

REFLECT

When the Holy Spirit corrects me, is my first response surrender or defense?

What have I been explaining away that God may be asking me to simply confess?

Where might pride be keeping me from returning fully to Him?

PRAY

Father, humble my heart before You. Strip away every excuse, comparison, and defense. Holy Spirit, show me what is true and give me humility to agree with You. I don’t want to protect an image. I want to be transformed. Make my heart quick to repent and willing to return.

The awakened heart hears the call. The humble heart turns and returns.

DAY 22 | AWAKE

“The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.”
Romans 13:11

There are moments when God whispers.

And there are moments when God sounds an alarm.

Throughout Scripture, the trumpet was a sound that demanded attention. It gathered the people. It announced what was coming. It called them to prepare.

As we move closer to the Fall Feasts, we begin with that same biblical pattern:

Awakening.

Yom Teruah, the Feast of Trumpets, is literally a day of teruah, a day marked by the sounding of the shofar. The command is simple, but the picture is powerful.

Wake up. Pay attention. The King is coming.

But spiritual sleep does not always look like rebellion.

Sometimes it looks like going through the motions.

We can attend church, read Scripture, sing the songs, know the right language, and still become spiritually dull.

Things that once convicted us no longer bother us.

Things that once moved us barely touch us.

The presence of God becomes familiar.

Our hunger quiets.

And without realizing it, we can learn how to look awake while our hearts are sleeping.

That is why teshuvah is such a gift.

God does not awaken us to condemn us.

He awakens us because there is something worth waking up for.

The Bridegroom is coming.

The King is drawing near.

And the sound of the trumpet reminds us that this is not the time to sleep through what God is doing.

REFLECT

Where have I become spiritually comfortable or numb?

Is there something that once convicted me, stirred me, or caused me to seek God that I have gradually stopped responding to?

If the shofar were sounding over my life today, what would the Holy Spirit be telling me to wake up to?

PRAY

Yeshua, awaken me. Where my heart has become dull, make it tender again. Where I have grown comfortable, stir holy hunger. Where distraction has put me to sleep, call my attention back to You. Give me ears to hear what Your Spirit is saying and a heart ready to respond.

The trumpet is sounding. Wake up, Bride. The King is coming.

DAY 21 | HOLY LOVE, HOLY JUSTICE

“With righteousness He will judge the needy, with justice He will give decisions for the poor of the earth.”
Isaiah 11:4

We sometimes struggle to reconcile the tenderness of Yeshua with the judgment of the King.

We understand the Jesus who welcomed children, touched lepers, forgave sinners, wept with the grieving, and gave His life for His enemies.

But Revelation also shows us the King who will confront evil and bring rebellion, oppression, and death to their appointed end.

These are not opposing sides of His character.

His justice flows from His love.

If God truly loves what He created, then He cannot remain indifferent toward what destroys it.

If He loves the oppressed, He must care about oppression.

If He loves what is holy, He must confront what corrupts.

If He loves His Bride, He will not forever allow everything that wounds her to remain.

The cross shows us just how perfectly love and justice meet.

Yeshua did not dismiss sin as though it did not matter. He bore its cost Himself.

That should change the way we experience conviction during these days of teshuvah.

When the Holy Spirit exposes something in us, He is not trying to shame us. He is confronting something that does not belong in the life of the Bride.

Sometimes we ask God to remove darkness from the world while protecting small agreements with darkness in ourselves.

But the King loves us too much to make peace with what is destroying us.

So we can invite His light into every hidden place.

REFLECT

Is there something God has been confronting in me that I keep excusing because it seems small?

Do I ever interpret God’s correction as rejection rather than evidence that He loves me enough to transform me?

Where have I asked God for justice or change around me while resisting His correction within me?

PRAY

Yeshua, teach me to see Your holiness and Your love together. Search me and expose anything in me that does not reflect Your Kingdom. When You correct me, keep me from hiding, defending, or hardening my heart. I trust Your love enough to welcome Your refining. Make me holy because I belong to You.

The Bride does not fear the holiness of her King. She allows His holy love to prepare her.

DAY 20 | SAFE IN SURRENDER

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him.”
Proverbs 3:5–6

Surrender can feel dangerous.

We often hold tightly to things because somewhere inside us we believe that keeping control will keep us safe.

So we surrender to Yeshua until He touches the place we are afraid to release.

The relationship we are trying to control.
The future we have already planned.
The outcome we desperately want.
The wound we have learned to protect.
The question we cannot answer.
The thing we fear God may ask us to give up.

But surrender is not placing our lives into the hands of a stranger.

It is placing them into the hands of the One who gave His life for us.

The King asking for our surrender is the Bridegroom who loved us unto death.

That changes everything.

Teshuvah is not simply turning away from sin. It is turning back toward God with enough trust to place ourselves beneath His rule again.

Sometimes repentance sounds like, “Father, forgive me.”

And sometimes it sounds like:

“Yeshua, I trust You with this.”

We may not understand what He is doing. We may not know what comes next. Surrender does not require that we understand the entire path.

It requires that we know the One leading us.

There is no safer place than surrendered to the King who gave Himself to save us.

REFLECT

What am I currently trying hardest to control?

Is there something I have called “wisdom” or “being careful” that may actually be fear of trusting God?

What would surrender look like practically, not just emotionally, in that area today?

PRAY

Yeshua, I trust You. Forgive me for the places where fear has convinced me that my control is safer than Your hands. I surrender what I cannot fix, predict, protect, or understand. Teach me to rest beneath Your authority and follow wherever You lead.

The hands of the King bear the scars that prove His love. I can trust Him with what I surrender.

Mic drop. Jesus is not weak.

Revelation 19 does not show us a timid King. It shows us Yeshua returning in righteousness, with authority and power. He comes to judge, to make war against wickedness, and to crush every enemy that stands against Him.

He is the Lamb who was slain.

And He is the King who is coming to reign.

“On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

DAY 19 | THE KING HAS NO RIVALS

“You shall have no other gods before Me.”
Exodus 20:3

Yesterday we saw Yeshua as both Bridegroom and King.

Today the question becomes more personal:

Is He actually King over me?

Most of us are not tempted to bow before a carved idol. But Scripture’s warnings about idolatry reach much deeper than statues.

A false master is anything that gains the authority in our lives that belongs to God.

Fear can become a master when it determines our obedience.

Approval can become a master when pleasing people matters more than pleasing God.

Money can become a master when security rests in what we possess.

Comfort can become a master when we obey Yeshua only as long as obedience does not cost us anything.

Even our own understanding can become a master when we trust what makes sense to us more than what God has said.

This is why teshuvah cannot stop at asking, “What have I done wrong?”

Sometimes the deeper question is:

“What has been ruling me?”

Yeshua does not come merely to occupy a place somewhere within our lives.

He comes as King.

And a throne cannot be shared.

There may be places where we sincerely love Yeshua and yet still allow fear, control, approval, bitterness, comfort, ambition, or self protection to make the final decision.

Those are the places teshuvah brings before the King.

Not because He is trying to take something good from us, but because every false master eventually enslaves.

The King who asks for the throne is the same Bridegroom who gave Himself for us.

We can trust Him with the places we have been afraid to surrender.

REFLECT

What has the greatest influence over my decisions right now?

Where do I know what God is asking of me, but fear, comfort, approval, money, control, or my own understanding keeps winning?

What would change if Yeshua truly had the final word in that area?

PRAY

Yeshua, You alone are King. Search my heart and reveal every false master I have allowed to compete with Your authority. Show me where fear, approval, comfort, control, ambition, or self have occupied a throne that belongs to You. I surrender those places to You. Teach me to trust Your rule because I trust Your heart.

Every false master must come down. The throne belongs to the King.
