Dear Parents,
First and foremost I would like to congratulate you and your children for making it to their First Communion. We are very proud and happy that you helped prepare them receive Jesus in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. We sincerely appreciate your trust that our parish can provide your child the necessary education to help them build their faith in Christ so that they become prepared to live out the message and teachings of the Gospel of Jesus in their adult life. But you see, formation is part of education and the fruit of formation is only realized when there is the practice of faith.
In this regard, the Immaculate Conception Parish Altar Server Ministry would like to offer your child the opportunity to grow in the practice of their faith by serving at the altar of the Lord. Altar serving is a privilege which allows one to get closer to the Body and Blood of Christ everytime the Eucharist is celebrated. Jesus loves children and He even said in the Gospel of Matthew, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." We know that every parent desire their child to be close to Jesus and be like Jesus, but that will not happen if we don't take all oportunity that allows them to know and love Him.
