SERMON DEVOTIONAL - December 20, 2020. This Sunday we will have a "Christmas" themed message from LUKE 2:25-35 on the story of SIMEON. We will also be looking at another key text from 2 PETER 3:8-15a. The main idea we'll develop: considering a key Greek term that links both of these passages together, we'll see that the manner in which Simeon anticipated the FIRST coming of Christ becomes the model for how you & I anticipate the SECOND coming of Christ. There are some other verses that make note of this connecting term as well so you'll want to have your Bible with you. The question Peter poses is one of the most important ever asked: since Jesus will come again, WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE SHOULD WE BE?? Simeon's example helps to provide some clues.

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday for our worship gathering (10:30 AM) as we grow in our faith together!

**Come out for our ABBREVIATED Sunday School time (9:30 AM) - we will be having WHITE HOUSE DONUTS (10:00 AM - foyer area) as a fellowship time to celebrate our Christmas Sunday Worship!

YouTube Link for Wednesday Bible Study - December 16, 2020. **Series: "The New Testament Church Structure -&- Your Place To Serve." **Lesson: Looking at Part 2 of a previous lesson, we consider the two different lists of Spiritual Gifts in Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12. The reason for that difference, we discover, can be found in a couple clues provided in Romans 1 and 1 Corinthians 2. We now must ask the question: Why does Paul say (in 1 Corinthians 13) that certain gifts will "cease" and "pass away" and when might that happen? Does his statement of when "perfection comes" the "imperfect disappears" have anything to do with this? And if so, we dig deeper into James 5, 2 and 1 for those answers in developing this puzzle. **DISCLAIMER: I want to be clear in stating I believe God is ALL-POWERFUL and can do ANYTHING...we also must undertand that the Bible says certain INDIVIDUAL GIFTS have an "expiration date" on them. This lesson is not about personal opinion, but rather a scripturally developed process that should be easy to understand. **LINK: https://youtu.be/V37qvpjHNL4

YouTube Link - Worship Service for Sunday, December 6, 2020 - (note: apologies for the video being flipped - the default setting for Facebook is the reversed image, and I failed to properly format the video before recording). **Series: "The Kingdom Culture" (Discipleship). **Main Text: Matthew 5-7 ('The Sermon on the Mount'). **Message: The final message in this 20-week series is on MATTHEW 7:24-27 and the "Wise and Foolish Builders." As Jesus concludes this series, He tells the story of two builders. The difference was the FOUNDATIONS. But a new variable happens: a terrible storm. How do we overcome the "storms of life" that hit us? One word: OBEDIENCE! Storms are inevitable; with Christ they are not invincible!

I will be on vacation December 7-14. There will be no Wednesday Bible Study on December 9th. Ben will be sharing the morning message on Sunday, December 13th. If you have any pastoral needs please be in contact with the elders.

Sermon Devotional — December 6th: I hope you will join us this Sunday for worship (10:30 am) & Sunday School classes (9:30 am). We will also prove a Facebook Live online worship service for those unable to attend (on my personal page - beginning at start of service). Invite a friend to join you!

We will conclude a 20-week series of messages on the “Sermon On The Mount” from Matthew 5-7. In closing His message, Jesus uses a well-known parable - “The Wise & Foolish Builders” from Matthew 7:24-27. But why?? As we end this lengthy series in which we took an in-depth look at Jesus’ words, it all now comes together. And here’s the simple version: life is going to throw hard things at you - the unknown STORMS that everyone of us must face. The question is: are you prepared for them. The contrast of these two home-builders is much more than architectural advice - it’s the difference between a life that strongly endures, and a life that quickly falls apart.

**I will be taking a week of vacation from December 7-14. No Wednesday Bible Study on 12/9. Please be in touch with the elders if you have any pastoral care needs during this time.
