Brenda Mae Margelot
July 19, 1941 — February 2, 2026

Brenda Mae (Lykins) Margelot, 84 of Sebree, KY passed away on Monday February 2, 2026 at her home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.

She was born in Bradley, KY on July 19, 1941 to the late Darlie Raymond Lykins, Jr and Grace (Howard) Lykins.

Brenda was a member of the Sebree United Methodist Church. She served as Postmaster for Sebree and Poole post offices as well as Waverly, KY for a short time. As family says Brenda had such a gentle soul, always ready to give a hug and a beautiful smile. She always wanted to make sure everybody was right with God.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son; Bryan Keith Margelot, 2 grandsons; Daylon and Dillon Margelot, 4 brothers; Willard, Howard, Jay W. and Jack Lykins and 3 sisters; Betty Reynolds, Arleen Griggs and Virginia McCully.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernie Margelot III, 3 children; Darla (John) Russin of Henderson, KY, Little Ernie (Lindsey) Margelot of Slaughters, KY and Matthew (Lydia) Margelot of Sebree, KY. One brother; Raymond (Lynda) Lykins of Jacksonville, FL. 8 grandchildren; Ashlee, Drake, Bryan, Jake, Sophia, Gavin, Garrett and Hunter. 3 great grandchildren; Waylon, Hudson and Rylan. Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday February 5, 2026 at Sebree United Methodist Church.

Ernie Margelot IV will officiate.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

Visitation will Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time at Sebree United Methodist Church, 12180 St Rt 132 E. in Sebree.

Pallbearers will be; Ernie Margelot IV, Matthew Margelot, Drake Zimmerman, Bryan Zimmerman, Monty Reynolds Tracy Lykins and Jake Russin.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice or Sebree United Methodist Church.
