Student-Led: The event is entirely organized, promoted, and executed by students themselves.

Global & Interdenominational: While it began as a grass-roots youth group movement in Texas in 1990, it has grown into a global event spanning all 50 U.S. states and more than 20 countries. Students from many different Christian denominations participate together.

School Yard Gatherings: It traditionally takes place outside at 7:00 AM local time on the fourth Wednesday of September. Students often stand in a circle, hold hands, read scripture, and pray together around the American flag.
