Our Covenant
❖ Since God is still speaking and we’re still listening, we will:

Listen to honest questions & doubts, as well as hopes & faith testimonies, encourage life-long learning and intergenerational mentoring.

❖ Since we hear God’s call to be earth-friendly, justice-seeking peacemakers, we seek to:

Be at one with God, others, our own best selves. Live as one in community, simplicity & non-violence.

❖ Since we strive to be an encompassing church whose compass is Jesus’ life & teachings, we:

Affirm each person’s unique God-given strengths, celebrate diversity in religious background, sexual orientation, race, age & ability.

🙏🏾 Blessed is your name, O God;

Who remembers us in our distress;

Who searches for us in our gloom and calls us into the light;

Who calls us into being; Who never fails us.

Strengthen us to your good purpose;

Don't let us let you down;

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

🙏🏾 Holy One,

Please help us to reawaken our humanity and demand an end to violence and war. No more suffering and burning.

Please help us put a stop to hatred and open our hearts to love. Show us the way.

🙏🏾 God,

May we come together and address the needs of the poor, the disadvantaged, the lonely and the forgotten not only here but around the world.

May we realize that our mere existence is a gift given to us from God, and that we must address our actions that are destroying our planet. May we remain true to our faith that the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice. Amen.

🙏🏾 Loving Creator,

May we find peace in knowing that today, we worked to bridge divides. Soften our hearts with each act of understanding we offer, allowing our kindness to shape the world around us in countless unseen ways.

Let tomorrow be a fresh canvas, a chance to build and learn together once again, creating a community grounded in compassion and unity.

In hope and in faith, we pray. Amen.

🙏🏾 Gracious God,

I pray for peace, and for all areas experiencing war and violence. I especially pray for the innocent children, who are injured, traumatized, and who have lost their parents. May Peace prevail so that all experience the abundant life that you will for all the world. Work in the hearts and minds of those in power to bring peaceful solutions to world dilemmas.

May our country find ways to talk across differences in the current political climate. May the church take the lead in showing respect in discourse, and value all of God’s children, even those we disagree with. In Jesus’ name, Amen

“The ministry and work of Christian communities to welcome the stranger and protect those who are vulnerable is grounded in biblical teaching. Decades-long federal support for these commitments was abandoned by the new administration which has traded welcome for hostility, taking actions that increase vulnerability rather than offer relief.

“The United Church of Christ joins this ecumenical declaration affirming historic and ongoing faith commitments that ensure all are welcome. In the season of Lent that is before us, may we hear anew Christ’s call to love our neighbor and be moved to act in love for the welcome of all.”

-Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia A. Thompson, General Minister & President/CEO, UCC
