“When you hit the strange parts of your Bible, don’t just jump to Philippians because it is easier.”
Hebrews 9 drops us into budding staffs, urns of manna, golden cherubim, and a high priest with a bowl of blood. It can feel like culture shock.
But those details aren’t random. They’re God’s way of answering the deepest questions of your soul:
- How can I be right with a holy God?
- Who will lead me?
- Where do I find light in a dark world?
- Can my guilty conscience ever really be clean?
The tabernacle, the sacrifices, the holy places - all of it was good but temporary, like an ambulance rushing us to the one who can actually heal us.
Jesus is the true bread, the true light, the true temple, the true High Priest, and the once-for-all sacrifice. The whole story is about Him.
Don’t skip the “weird” parts. Let them draw you deeper into the love of Christ.
Revisit Hebrews 9 this week and see how it points to Jesus.
