MCC Seattle has served the Seattle area for more than 50 years in affiliation with Metropolitan Community Churches (mccchurch.org)

The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches was founded in 1968 by Reverend Troy Perry, specifically to minister to the needs of the le***an and gay community at a

time when other Christian denominations were not open and affirming. The LGBTQ+ community has an ongoing need to explore faith without shame or with second-class status. Today, our diverse community focuses on deconstruction of harmful faith and reconstruction of liberating spirituality. We preach Q***r Christian Theology. We teach interfaith wisdom. We live out the Divine call to embody justice-love. You are fully welcome to try us out online or in person!

Today, the MCC Denomination joins together to celebrate Harvey Milk Day. We honor the legacy of a visionary leader who courageously stood up for the dignity, authentic visibility, and civil rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

Harvey Milk famously reminded us that we must give the next generation hope. In MCC, we believe that hope isn’t passive. It is an active, loving, and transformative force. It requires us to speak out against injustice, tear down walls of exclusion, and build sanctuaries where everyone is celebrated exactly as they are created.

Let’s keep shouting, keep loving, and keep building a world where hope is never silent.
