Please join us for a Prayer Vigil for our beloved Frassati member Hannah Takemori, who passed away last week. Hannah was active in the ministry, a sacristan at Blessed Sacrament, and a teacher at St. Monica’s on Mercer Island. We will miss her kindness and thoughtfulness and we are grateful for the life she shared with us.

We will have the prayer vigil at the Newman Center at 7pm on Saturday, April 18th. If attending, please park off-site, as parking at Newman will be limited. We recommend parking at the N5 lot on UW Campus.

Please pray for her and her family. If you need any support during this time, please contact Fr. Marcin or Fr. Nathaniel.

In just a few days we will celebrate Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion. On that day, we will hear both the account of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and His sorrowful Passion. At first, Jesus is welcomed into Jerusalem with the crowds saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna in the highest." But soon after, Jesus is betrayed, abandoned, and condemned.

Holy Week is a time of great importance and reflection. Are we like those who joyfully welcomed Christ, or are we like those who have abandoned Him when following Him seems too difficult?

In this week's video, Fr. Marcin asks that we be extra attentive to Scripture, engaged in prayer, and preparing ourselves for what is coming.

For this week's video, Fr. Marcin reflects on the dialogue between Martha and Jesus before Lazarus is raised from the dead. Let us take this dialogue as an example for our own lives. Among the many difficulties of life, do we ask God why he didn't do something, didn't show up sooner, or do we use those moments as opportunities to grow closer to Him and rely on Him, to profess our faith in Him? Do we believe that He has power over all- even sin and death?

May this Lent be a reminder for us to lean on Christ, for He is always there to comfort us. He has conquered death, He can do anything!

In this week's video, Fr. Marcin reflects on Jesus' encounter with the blind man. The man was ridiculed for an ailment beyond his control, and then also spurned by those who did not believe that is was Christ who healed him. And yet, the man staunchly defended Christ and professed his belief in Him.

May this Lent be a time for us of perseverance in our faith against the adversities of the world- whether that be temptations, ridicule, or anything that keeps our hearts and minds away from loving God. And let us always be open to receiving and proclaiming the healing that Christ so graciously bestows on us.

In this video, Fr. Marcin reflects on Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. We see that she was resistant to the Lord at first, but gradually her heart becomes open to receiving His grace. Let us too be open to the Lord, for despite our hesitancies and misunderstandings, Jesus is always patiently waiting for us to drink of His life-giving water. And like the Samaritan woman, let us become evangelizers, sharing the Good News of our Savior.
