円教寺 Enkyoji Buddhist Network 円教寺 Enkyoji Buddhist Network belongs to the Nichiren Shu Buddhist Sect. Visit us @ www.enkyojibuddhistnetwork.org Tsukamoto, Rev.

円教寺 Enkyoji Buddhist Network is the World Wide propagation portal of the Shinshibōen 親師法縁 Lineage of Nichiren Shu as it runs through 長栄山円教寺 Choeizan Enkyoji Temple of Seattle to our Honbu Temple, 長妙山 圓教寺 Chomyozan Enkyoji Buddhist Temple of Saga, Kyushu Japan. The Shinshibōen 親師法縁 Lineage of Abbot Kanjin Cederman Shonin and 長栄山円教寺 Choeizan Enkyoji Temple of Seattle has a long and important histor

y. The Lineage was transmitted by Kanto Tsukamoto Shonin from 長妙山 圓教寺 Chomyozan Enkyoji Temple in Saga, Kyushu, Southern Japan. This is where Rev. Cederman’s teacher, and his family have continued this wonderful lineage of faith and practice for many generations.

圓教寺 Enkyoji was originally a Shingon Shu temple. In the 15th century, Nichijo Shonin, who was the head priest of the temple, lost a debate with the famous Nichiren Shu priest Kuonjoin Nisshin Shonin during his stay in Hizen prefecture, which was between modern Saga and Nagasaki prefectures. Following his loss to Nisshin Shonin, Nichijo Shonin converted the temple to Nichiren Shu.

This week we will be discussing …

“Turning Poison into Medicine” - Hendoku Iyaku

We will be reflecting on how even the most difficult parts of our lives, including addiction, can become the very material for growth, strength, and compassion. Not by pretending it was good, but by deciding what we do with it.

Our preamble asays:

“Welcome! Enkyoji Buddhist Recovery Sangha is a gathering of people, exploring how to use Buddhist principles and practices to help alleviate and see clearly the suffering of addiction in our lives.

An understanding of Buddhism is not necessary, but we do encourage participants to try and use these principles and practices in order to build a sober and healthier life.”

All our welcome!
