Last night on NPR's Fresh Air there was a very interesting episode called ‘Faith, Cancer and Living Scan to Scan’. It is an interview with Kate Bowler on her new memoir, 'Everything Happens For A Reason (And Other Lies I've Loved),' in which she talks about how her illness has affected her faith and how her faith influenced her approach to her illness. She speaks with such beauty and grace about her experience and struggles with faith after learning she has incurable cancer - quite compelling. Very dear and genuine. I think many will be able to identify with her.

Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday February 14th will begin with a Soup supper at 6:00 p.m., followed by worship at 7:00. All are welcome.

We had another wonderful combined worship with University Christian Church this past Sunday. The message was good, the sharing of prayers meaningful, and the music was uplifting. It was followed by a great Fellowship meal and lots of warm conversation. So glad we were able to experience this together.

We had a special combined worship and fellowship this Sunday with University Christian Church. What a wonderful group of folks. Thanks Tiffany Harmon for taking the photos.

The folks at Lake City Christian Church are excited about the possibility of combining our two congregations and becoming a new Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) ministry in NE Seattle.

Pastor Sacia and Cat Sullivan were able to go the Poor People's Campaign: A National Movement for a Moral Revival meeting at the UW. The Poor People's Campaign, originally started by Martin Luther King Jr., is a nationwide movement committed to combating racial and economic injustice at state and local levels. Sacia, along with other faith leaders, was invited forward during the call to action to highlight that these are faith based issues that deal directly with the justice that God calls us to fight for in our world.

Lake City Christian Church will be partnering with the campaign as it moves to direct action and civil disobedience this Spring. Join us.
