God be with you all and keep you in his loving grace, through your new pastor, Rev. James Turner.
“In our [my] prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for we [I] have heard [experienced] of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel that has come to you.
Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God.”
Colossians 1:3-6

True and lasting freedom transcends everything
John 8:31-32
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

“Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Ephesians 4:31-5:2

It’s a good day to pray, return to the basics, trust God, return to God’s house of worship. 🙏🏼

Ephesians 4:26-31
26 “In your anger do not sin”. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

When Nathan the Prophet confronted King David with his sin, he responded appropriately. Your spirit will be enriched to read the rest of this chapter today.

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” Psalm 51:1-2

Adapted from The Upper Room: "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him; bless his name." Psalm 100:4

Abba Father, Help us to see beyond ourselves, and see you in ALL of the world. It is because of your goodness and in response to your grace that I pray, Amen.

“Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing of his glorious name! Tell the world how wonderful he is. How awe-inspiring are your deeds, O God! How great your power! No wonder your enemies surrender! bAll the earth shall worship you and sing of your glories. Come, see the glorious things God has done. What marvelous miracles happen to his people!” Psalm 66:1-5

“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life…” Philippians 2:14-16a

Genesis 2:21-24 “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
The Word of the Lord.

From Jesus lips to all who will hear: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Matthew 7:21,24-29

I am nearing retirement time, and feel sad to leave this wonderful congregation, and I look forward to more family travel time. My feelings are mixed, and my spirit is joyful. I can leave with confidence knowing God has brought a new pastor for you all, Rev. James Turner, beginning July 1st.

Our gradual transition, with some overlap of serving together is a beautiful cooperation for the glory of God.

I offer you blessings for continued spiritual and personal growth through the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen. RevDonna Harvey
