Monday Motivation: When God Gets the Last Laugh ✨
Yesterday, we jumped into week two of our series, Forming a Family/Preparing a People, with the sermon "A Miracle Called Laughter." As we step into a brand-new week, let this powerful reminder from Genesis 21:1 and 6 carry you through:
"The Lord attended to Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what He had promised... Sarah said, 'God has brought me laughter; everyone who hears will laugh with me.'"
Think about where Sarah started: sitting in the back of a tent, listening to an impossible promise, and laughing out of sheer disbelief. "In my old age? Such things just aren't done."
And yet, God did exactly what He said He would do. He didn't answer her disbelief with anger or frustration; He answered it with the birth of Isaac—a name that literally means Laughter. God took her cynical, weary laugh and transformed it into a legacy of pure, staggering joy.
As you face "the grind" of this Monday, remember this: God is still in the business of keeping promises, and He is still in the business of surprising us.
You don't have to have perfect, unwavering certainty for God to work a miracle in your life. Even when life feels heavy or predictable, God’s grace is right around the corner, ready to break through the ordinary and stagger your imagination.
Lean into hope today. Keep your eyes open for the holy diversions. Let’s carry the joy of yesterday's worship into everything we do this week! 💛
