Monday Motivation: When God Gets the Last Laugh ✨

Yesterday, we jumped into week two of our series, Forming a Family/Preparing a People, with the sermon "A Miracle Called Laughter." As we step into a brand-new week, let this powerful reminder from Genesis 21:1 and 6 carry you through:

"The Lord attended to Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what He had promised... Sarah said, 'God has brought me laughter; everyone who hears will laugh with me.'"

Think about where Sarah started: sitting in the back of a tent, listening to an impossible promise, and laughing out of sheer disbelief. "In my old age? Such things just aren't done."

And yet, God did exactly what He said He would do. He didn't answer her disbelief with anger or frustration; He answered it with the birth of Isaac—a name that literally means Laughter. God took her cynical, weary laugh and transformed it into a legacy of pure, staggering joy.

As you face "the grind" of this Monday, remember this: God is still in the business of keeping promises, and He is still in the business of surprising us.

You don't have to have perfect, unwavering certainty for God to work a miracle in your life. Even when life feels heavy or predictable, God’s grace is right around the corner, ready to break through the ordinary and stagger your imagination.

Lean into hope today. Keep your eyes open for the holy diversions. Let’s carry the joy of yesterday's worship into everything we do this week! 💛

❄️ We can't let the week end without a huge THANK YOU to our incredible VBS volunteers! ❄️ 🌟

These smiling faces represent just some of the many people who have made Snowball Mountain Challenge such a special week. (Several wonderful volunteers aren't pictured!) We are so grateful for your servant hearts and the difference you’re making in the lives of children. Thank you for helping make this week so special!

🏔️ Guided by Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” — we were reminded each day about resilience and faith. We learned that with the strength God provides, they can share their gifts, be brave, give their all, and pray.

To the the parents and kids who spent the week with us ... thank you for joining us on this VBS journey! Your participation and energy made it all worthwhile. ❄️🏂🏼️🙏🏼

As we head into the weekend and look toward Sunday’s sermon, "A Miracle Called Laughter," our focus turns to the beautiful, exuberant words of Psalm 100:1-2:

"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing."

Notice the words the Psalmist uses here: joyful noise, gladness, singing. There is a vibrant, unmistakable energy to this kind of worship. It’s not rigid or formal—it’s the sound of a people who have been staggered by the goodness of God and just can't keep it in.

Sometimes, life feels incredibly heavy, and finding that "joyful noise" feels like a stretch. But this Sunday, as we dive into the story of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis, we’re going to discover that God loves to interrupt our heavy seasons with unexpected, miraculous moments of delight. Human beings were simply made for joy.

Worshipping with gladness doesn't mean ignoring the hard stuff; it means choosing to notice the grace, the hope, and the holy diversions God places right in front of us.

Take a breath today. Lean into the gladness. And get ready to enter His presence this weekend with a heart ready to receive the miracle of laughter.

We’re saving a seat for you! See you Sunday at 10 am! 💛

🏔️🏂🏼❄️ Our last day on Snowball Mountain was SNOW great! We can't believe it's over. Please don’t forget to join us for Sunday service at 10 AM to sing our VBS songs!

Today, your children were invited to experience Jesus in one of the most challenging times in his life and ministry. We learned that even though Jesus was afraid and his friends let him down, Jesus still found strength in God to pray. We learned that Jesus does not abandon us either, even when we feel like we have failed or abandoned him. We can follow the example that Jesus set and pray during moments where we feel challenged. 💜

🙏🏼 God who gives us strength during challenging moments, thank you for being with us in times of difficulty. Help us to remember that you are always there for us when we are in need, even when we have been less than perfect in following you. In Jesus’ name. Amen

🏔️🏂🏼❄️ Day 3 of our time on Snowball Mountain is in the books – we have just one more day left! 😭 We are so thankful for the children, families, and volunteers who make this week such a blessing.

Today, we heard about a woman who gave her all to God, even though, on the outside, it looked like she didn’t have much to share. We learned that it’s not about how much you give, it’s about giving with your heart AND about being generous with what you have.

Everyone can give what they have. You don’t have to be the best or have the most. The thing that God wants most is your heart. 💜

🙏🏼 Dear God, thank you for letting us know that we can do all things through Jesus. Grant us the courage to give it our all and show love as we overcome life’s obstacles. Amen.

🏔️🏂🏼❄️ We survived Day 2 of VBS, and our Challengers learned that through God’s strength, we can be brave to help others! 💪🏻 🩵🫶

We got a visit from the brave Firemen with the Austin County Emergency Services District No.2! We also worked on special gifts for new SEALY ISD employees … because it’s hard to start new jobs and meet new people!

What tasks are you facing that you find difficult? How can God’s strength help you overcome the challenges you face? How can being in community help you draw from that strength? 💛

🙏🏼 Here's today's prayer ... God who helps us find strength in community, thank you for giving us courage in the face of challenges that seem too big to approach alone. Remind us that even when we are afraid and feel powerless to move forward, you are with us helping us brave the challenges ahead; in Jesus’ name. Amen.

VBS Day 1! 🎉
It was a great day on the mountain!!!
Today, we learned through the ups and downs of Joseph’s story how we can share our gifts with others. Snowball Mountain Challenge VBS day #1 showed us that through God’s strength we can share our gifts to help others. ❄️

God, we thank you for the unique gifts you’ve given each of us for helping one another meet life’s challenges. Remind us to keep sharing those gifts for the good of others; in Jesus’ name. Amen
