Rabbi Galit Ordained rabbi, serving Congregation Sholom of Leisure World I have served my congregation as a cantor for 18 years.

I was ordained in New York on August 25, 2012 and installed as rabbi of Congregation Sholom on September 1, 2012. My background has been in the entertainment business; I have performed in operas, musical theater, nightclubs, dramatic plays, jazz dancing and films. I became a Jew By Choice in 1980, studied chazzanut (cantorial music) at Hebrew Union College (HUC); Hebrew Ulpan at the University of

Judaism; rabbinics at Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute (JSLI), a Universalist Jewish seminary, an alternative rabbinic school that is progressive in thought and traditional in liturgy. Most recently, in December 2013, I was elected Vice President of the Leisure World Interfaith Council (Next stop - the WORLD!)
