What wonderful news! Please pray for Fr. Liam as he takes on the very important position of Vocations Director for our Diocese. Come Holy Spirit!
We're excited to share that Fr. Liam McDonald has been appointed the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Rockville Centre. He is currently the pastor of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Church in Montauk.
Fr. Liam was ordained to the priesthood on June 24, 2017, the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. He attended Norwich University and Alfred State College before earning a degree in Architecture and Engineering Technology. Following college, he worked for three and a half years as an estimator for a mechanical contractor. It was during this time that he began discerning a call to the priesthood.
Fr. Liam spent two years discerning his vocation at the minor seminary in Douglaston, New York, before completing his spiritual, pastoral, and academic formation at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, New York. Prior to arriving at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Church, Fr. Liam served as chaplain at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School and as Associate Pastor at Holy Family Church in Hicksville.
Outside of his mission of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Fr. Liam enjoys good coffee, hiking, running, and mountain biking. His favorite composer is Ludovico Einaudi, his favorite author is Michael O’Brien, and his favorite artist is William Kurelek.
Welcome, Fr. Liam!
