October is Pastor Appreciation Month! ❤️🙏🏾
Being a pastor is more than standing behind a pulpit on Sunday morning. It is carrying the responsibility of caring for God’s people, even while carrying your own burdens. It is praying for others when you need prayer yourself, encouraging others when you may be discouraged, answering calls when you are tired, visiting the sick, comforting grieving families, counseling marriages, preparing sermons, leading ministries, making difficult decisions, and continually trying to hear from God so that you can lead His people in the right direction.
The work of a pastor is not always seen. We see the sermon, but we do not always see the hours of preparation. We see the smile, but we do not always know the weight behind it. We see the leader, but sometimes forget that the pastor is also a husband, father, friend, and human being who needs encouragement, prayer, love, and support.
The Word of God says, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” — Jeremiah 3:15
This month, Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church pauses to honor and appreciate our pastor, Rev. Jerome Shoulders, for his service, sacrifice, leadership, prayers, and commitment to the work God has placed in his hands.
“And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord… And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13
Join us on the first and third Sundays of October at 11:00 AM as we show our Pastor just how much we appreciate him.
Pastoring is not an easy assignment, but we thank God for the one He has given us. ❤️
We love and appreciate you, Pastor Shoulders!
