BSLS celebrated the birth of Jesus with BSL church & community. Gathering for a joyful Christmas Song Fest & International Dinner, where everyone heard that Jesus came for all.
Looking ahead to 2026 as we know God will continue to direct us. Please pray as all classes and parent support will resume from the Early Years through Kindergarten, enrichment, and summer programs. There are several ministry opportunities ahead where the love of Jesus will impact others.
May God’s joy, peace and love fill your days, weeks and New Year ahead. Looking forward to 2026 as we serve and partner together.

It is time for Summer School and Enrichment classes. The popups are in the play yard for shade and the classroom is ready for the summer sessions. Children gathered today and had a great time using hammers, nails, rulers and levels. The students will enjoy learning what an architect, contractor and construction crew does when involved in a building project.

Youth Club was lots of fun on Friday with snacks, games and Bible study! The Sr. High, Middle school counselors and Club officers did a great job leading the small groups. Each group portrayed part of the Bible story through skits, drawing pictures, puppet show, and even poetry. Very creative. Youth Club is for K-6th grade students. The next meetup is Wednesday, June 25, 10-12:00. Come join us!

Teamwork, communication and cooperation, are important skills the Pre-Kindergarten students worked on throughout the year. Pictured are photos of the children working in small groups as they take the puzzle challenge. As the children worked side by side they took turns and used encouraging words. Much growth since the first day of school, these students are ready for kindergarten!

Being treated like a queen, feeling included and welcomed in a community while sharing culture and the love of Jesus is what makes the Mother’s Day celebration special at BSLS.

“I love learning about different cultures and getting to know others better. When I heard that BSLS was going to offer an Ethiopian coffee ceremony for moms on Mother’s Day, I felt blessed to be involved in the event. It was new for me, I truly enjoyed every aspect, it was beautiful.” Preschool mom. ❤️

Volunteers Rock! Volunteers & Prayer Partners came to the Volunteer Rock Event. Children sang, made music, danced and said, "Thank You!" Volunteers are essential to the success of BSLS. Throughout the year, BSLS has been blessed by the church members & school families who have graciously helped. Grateful for the support, blessed by the involvement & prayers. ❤️

We are blessed when our alumni come back to help. Eleven years ago, this little guy was in the BSLS preschool. Now grown up in 9th grade he has come back to serve as a volunteer. After putting in 10+ hours to replenish the playground quarry pit with gravel, Yafot was happy to work alongside Mr. Bill as they dug out the gravel, washed off the dirt and wheeled it to the quarry. He said he remembered playing in the gravel when he was young and he had a good time helping. Thank you Yafot, you are a blessing!

It is time to Celebrate and Come to Jesus as He is the one who offers forgiveness, salvation, peace and hope! A special Thanks goes to the Youth Club members who created a banner to help enhance worship during Holy Week! With colorful brush strokes they depicted the joy of Jesus’ arrival when palm branches were waved like flags to the sorrow of the cross and finally to the hope and triumph of Jesus' Resurrection. Rejoice, Jesus is Alive for all! Have a Blessed Holy Week! ❤

It is the time to register for next year. We are excited to announce a new offering, a Kindergarten class will begin in September 2025. Morning and Afternoon Enrichment classes and the rest of our classes will also be available. BSLS will continue to provide monthly MomCo meetups to support our moms 1 time a month, weekly Coffee/Tea & Prayer, weekly Chapel Talks with Pastor Chirs and monthly Family Events. BSLS is a great place for families and kids!❤️

The Youth Club members meet the Independent Living residents of Judson Park Retirement Center, in Des Moines, WA. Youth & adults greeted one another, asked questions, and conversations started. Connections were made and both adults and youth shared many smiles and laughter. The BSLS Youth Club members made crosses and snowflakes as a gift to give out. The youth agreed that they thought that they had put their faith to action by loving their neighbor while spreading cheer and God’s love. A special thanks to Judson Park for letting us come. And a special thanks to Pastor Chris Howell who provides care center services through Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest. ❤️

BSLS has embraced cultural diversity as it prepares children to become global citizens. It is true that when children are exposed to cultural diversity from an early age, they develop a broader perspective of the world and become more open-minded individuals. By experiencing different languages, traditions, and values, they learn to appreciate diversity and strive for inclusiveness.

Culturally diverse classroom enhances cognitive development, language skills, social-emotional competence, and overall academic achievement. Children learn to communicate effectively and engage in respectful dialogue with others. This prepares them for the diverse society they will navigate as they grow. ❤️
