As Pastor Laura says goodbye this week, the song "For Good" from Wicked has been playing in her mind. The song reminds us to reflect - how have we been changed and blessed by those God has put in our paths?

Genesis 12 tells us that sometimes God calls us to a new place. As we move on into an unknown future, we know that God is guiding us and is with us. For that, even in the midst of our grief, we can say - thanks be to God.

The official lyric video for "For Good" from 'Wicked: For Good - The Soundtrack'. Listen to the soundtrack now at https://wickedthesoundtrack.lnk.to/forgood....

God's love spilled over to create the world and all of creation, including us. God created us in God's image. We are both God's beloved children and the bearers of God's image. Do we believe this? Do we know the truth of it in our souls?

Today is Trinity Sunday! We celebrate our Triune God, and we give thanks for the love of God that created us for community with God and with one another. How can we open and share our community of faith with those around us this week? In Matthew 28, Jesus calls his faithful followers to go into all the world - to go and create community and teach them how to live in right relationship with God and with one another. So, let's get to this holy work!

Yesterday wasn't just Pentecost and Mt. Zion's Homecoming, it also was the anniversary of John Wesley's Aldersgate experience in 1738 when his heart was "strangely warmed" by God. Thanks be to God for how the Spirit works in our lives!

Happy Pentecost! Today we celebrate God's gift of the Holy Spirit to the early followers of Jesus and God's gift of the Spirit to us today. The Spirit empowers and emboldens us to follow God more faithfully and to fulfill Jesus' command to go to everyone and teach them about God's love and mercy. Today we also celebrate our Mt. Zion's Homecomin. Mt. Zion UMC is our sister church, and we remember that Mt. Zion is a place where we have met God, been empowered by the Holy Spirit, and then sent out into the world. Our church buildings aren't our destination - rather, they are "refueling" stops, to get renewed and inspired by the Spirit for the work of God in the world. How is God refueling you today by the power of the Spirit?

“Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one.” — John 17:11

Christ’s prayer reminds us that we are called into a deeper kind of community—one rooted in love, grace, and shared belonging in God.
