Yes, that's real fire in the green glass bowl! On Sunday, our congregation at Black Mountain United Church of Christ celebrated Burning our Mortgage during our worship service, marking our final mortgage payment made in May. We now fully own our church property and buildings on Scottsdale Road. Special thanks to all who courageously built and supported our community over the past 20 years. UPDATE-

As you begin to pull out your winter clothing, please consider donating any warm items you no longer need to the elderly adult homeless. They are in particular need of jackets and coats. Our church, Black Mountain United Church of Christ, is collecting items to be delivered on DECEMBER 17 when we serve a hot holiday meal at the Justa Center in downtown Phoenix. We have over 100 fleece blankets to deliver and are still collecting coats and gloves, as well as books and personal grooming products. We can pick up items from you directly or meet you at our church, which is located near Scottsdale Rd. and Lone Mountain.
