Binderholz purchased all assets of Klausner Lumber, headquartered in Enfield, Halifax County, North Carolina, at a virtual auction held on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Binderholz, Europe’s largest company in the sawmill and solid wood processing industry, proceeded to upgrade the facility once it was purchased from Klausner. The company held its grand opening ceremony on April 6, 2023. Franz Binder founded the company in 1957. At that time, it was a “one-gate sawmill” that has since grown to 29 company locations in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Finland and the USA. More than 5,000 people work for Binderholz worldwide, but the business is still family-managed. There are approximately 120 employees at the Enfield facility.
