Seminarian John joined me tonight as we celebrated many of our parish’s 8th graders and their classmates at the Junior National Honor Society induction. These are Impressive young men and women doing lots of good things.

I’m especially grateful that many of them were recognized for the work they do with the parish through our teen outreach ministries to the homeless in Boston and a teen initiated prayer and fellowship program at our local nursing homes. Very proud of them all.

Praised be Jesus Christ! I am thrilled to announce that our very own Ryan Lucchetti has been officially accepted to Our Lady of Providence Seminary. What a great gift to receive on Corpus Christi Sunday.

Ryan will begin his academic program at Providence College and priestly formation at Our Lady of Providence at the end of August. Please say hello and congratulate him when you see him at Mass.

Rarely am I at a loss for words. At this moment, I am. All I can say is thank you to my staff and Fr. Joseph for pulling off a wonderful surprise. I wasn’t expecting any of my priest friends and mentors to be able to attend today. It is a Sunday after all.. and they have their own parishes. Thanks to Nancy DeCoste and Fr. Joseph’s poker faces, they pulled off the surprise.

I am blessed. I am humbled. 10 years in the books. Here here to another 10…. And beyond!

I was blessed to be in attendance for tonight’s Scituate High School graduation. Great words of wisdom spoken by some of the graduates, including a few active members of our own parish.

This senior class is a special one, and they will be missed. May the Lord guide them in all their future endeavors.
