Knights of Columbus, Scituate Council 3716

Knights of Columbus, Scituate Council 3716 The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J.

Founded in the United States in 1882, it is named in honor of Christopher Columbus. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882 officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The Knights

was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

Please spread the word that our coffee and snack station for all plow and emergency first responders is back. Remember, it is located in the front entrance of the Church, not the parish center. The Church will also remain heated and open throughout the night for anyone who needs a warm spot.

If there was ever a time for this, it’s now. I’m sorry I’m not experiencing this historic storm with all of you. I’m praying from Indiana for safety and security for all. Pray for me too. Tonight is my first of 4 talks in the coming days.

Blessings,

Fr. Matthew

P.S. when it’s safe to do so, make a few snow angels for me!

Spread the Word to Plow Drivers and First Responders

It has been about 4 years since our last really big storm down here. As we did then, we have again set up a coffee and snack station in the vestibule of the Church for our plow drivers and emergency first responders. Please spread the word so they can stop in anytime they need to while working the storm.

The Church will remain open and heated throughout the night as well for anyone who may need a warm place to go.

❄️ ❄️ Blessings all ❄️ ❄️
