This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost.

Pastor Ben will deliver the message, “The Pentecost Paradigm,” linking the fiery moment of Pentecost in Acts 2 with the radical transformation and growing inclusion revealed through Peter’s vision in Acts 10.

The old church is no more.

The Christian Church is born — and then born again through an ever-working Spirit that refuses to remain trapped behind old boundaries, old fears, or old assumptions.

Pentecost is not simply about flames descending from heaven.
It is about the Spirit pushing the Church outward.
Expanding the table.
Breaking walls apart.
And reminding us that God is still moving.

Join us for worship as we celebrate the fire, the vision, and the Spirit that continues to transform the Church even now.

A Prayer for Hope

God of mercy and steadfast love,
the world feels heavy with violence, fear, division, and grief.
We carry the weight of wars we cannot stop,
neighbors we do not understand,
systems that wound the vulnerable,
and futures that seem uncertain.
Yet even now, You have not abandoned creation.
Where hatred rises, plant compassion.
Where lies spread, strengthen truth.
Where power crushes the weak, awaken courage.
Where despair settles into weary hearts, kindle hope again.
Teach us not to surrender to cynicism.
Remind us that hope is not naïve optimism,
but the stubborn belief that love is stronger than death,
that justice still matters,
that peace is worth pursuing,
and that small acts of mercy can change the world.
Give wisdom to leaders,
protection to the vulnerable,
comfort to the grieving,
bread to the hungry,
shelter to the displaced,
and courage to all who work for reconciliation and healing.
And when we feel powerless,
show us the work that is ours to do:
to speak truth with humility,
to love our neighbors fiercely,
to resist cruelty,
to welcome the forgotten,
and to become people who carry light into dark places.
Hold this troubled world in Your care.
Do not let fear have the final word.
Let hope rise again—
in our communities,
in our churches,
in our homes,
and in our hearts.
Amen.
