Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Faith: Sarah and Hagar

As the mothers of Abraham's first two sons, Sarah and Hagar were caught in a human drama about slavery, manipulation, jealousy, and conflict. Hagar fares better than both Sarah and Abraham, who use and abuse the younger women for their own timeline, rather than trusting in God's still unfolding promise.

Eve gets the blame. She was the one who listened to the tempter snake. Is it that simple? The snake told her she would learn about good and evil, that she would be wise like God. Adam, on the other hand, simply took the fruit and ate it, even though he knew it was from the tree God had directed them not to touch. Some view Eve as seeking knowledge while Adam was simply disobedient. Could there be more nuance to the story than the version we heard in Sunday School?
