We are happy to share that two new men have been accepted into the priestly formation program for our diocese!!! In other words, we have two new seminarians!
WILLIAM STUEBEN (pictured left)
A lifelong resident of Thibodaux, William Stueben attended St. Joseph Elementary and E.D. White High School. He grew up in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral and St. Genevieve parishes. During his time as a student at Nicholls State University, where he studied allied health, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Student Center became his spiritual home. In his free time, Will loves to work with leather, creating beautiful bible covers, missal covers, rosary pouches, and more.
Upon his acceptance as a seminarian, Will shares: “I am filled with nothing short of gratitude for my acceptance, and how well everything fell into place during my application. I am most looking forward to learning how to be more virtuous and to see where the Lord may be calling me.”
In August, Will will begin his first year of formation at St Joseph the Worker Seminarian House of Formation in Thibodaux.
CALEB SYLVEST (pictured right)
A lifelong resident of Thibodaux, Caleb Sylvest attended St. Genevieve Elementary and E.D. White High School. He grew up in St. Charles Borromeo and St. Thomas Aquinas parishes. Caleb recently graduated from Nicholls State University with a bachelors degree in finance. Caleb loves music. Listening to and playing music has always been one of his greatest joys.
Upon his acceptance as a seminarian, Caleb shares: “Being accepted into priestly formation has felt both humbling and hopeful. There’s peace in knowing I don’t have to have it all figured out, but there's just a willingness to follow Jesus more closely. I’m especially looking forward to growing in prayer, living in community, and being shaped for whatever God is calling me to.”
In August, Caleb will begin his first year of formation at St Joseph the Worker Seminarian House of Formation in Thibodaux.
