Christ the Shepherd desires to not only be a spiritual presence in the community but also a civic presence working to partner with community leaders and organizations to improve the quality of life for those who live in the village and town of Schoharie. We are affiliated with the national organization of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). Our worship time is 9:00am on Sunday mor

nings. Our style of worship is that of a blended service, with contemporary praise music as well as hymns. It is a non-liturgical type of service, in that the service is not chanted, but has many of the same elements as in a traditional Lutheran service. An Adult Bible Study is offered following worship on Sunday morning. Looking forward to having you join us!

On this Labor Day, for the employed and unemployed seeking employment, for the police, fire personnel, EMTs, military, farmers, truck drivers, grocery clerks, doctors, nurses, pastors, teachers, social workers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, highway crews, clothing and furniture makers, mail ,news and bank personnel....for all who work for our physical, mental and spiritual well-being and who we so easily can take for granted....for these we pray! Thank you Lord for the skills you have provided them so as to be a blessing for us everyday. Amen!

REMINDER: This Sunday September 6th, in addition to our regular offering we will also be doing a food in-gathering to support the Schoharie Community Food Pantry. Recent increased costs for groceries (especially meat), gas prices, diesel prices for deliveries and reduced SNAP benefits are all contributing factors that are placing an increased financial strain on family budgets.
The Schoharie Community Food Pantry is an emergency food pantry intended to help in the short term to relieve the stress for families having to make difficult choices over what expenses to prioritize. Thank you for continuing to support this critical local need!
Last month 142 visits were made to the local pantry! A single day record was broken with 33 families!

Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church 289 Main Street Schoharie will once again be participating in the Village of Schoharie Garage Sale Day sponsored by the Schoharie Fire Department on Saturday Sept. 12th with a benefit rummage sale. In fact, we have received so many donations that we will holding our sale over two days, Sept. 11th from 9:00AM to 4:00PM and Sept. 12th from 8:00AM to 3:00PM! We will have items from a preschool that has closed (both children’s furniture and educational toys) and several different home clean-outs (including antique, vintage and modern items), along with items we have yet to unbox! In addition, pastor’s jams, jellies and pickles OH MY! will also be available on a donation basis!
All items at the sale will be offered for sale on a donation basis. This year 100% of the proceeds from the sale will go towards supporting Hope House Children's Home Projects for Asia missionaries Tom and Lenora Bush (originally from Middleburgh, NY) located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In addition, we will be collecting food items for the local food pantry on both days.
On Saturday during the village wide garage sales, in addition to the rummage sale we will be offering our air-conditioned facility and restroom as a public rest area for those who need to take a break from all that bargain hunting! Light refreshments will be available as well.
Come on out to show your support and help us move these items!
