The Red Cross is especially looking for Power Red Donations:
Donors can double their impact with your donation!
65% of all transfusions are red blood cells. We need more RBC's than any other component. Patient’s w/ Sickle Cell, blood cancers, trauma, surgery, transplants & sick newborns receive RBC's. Filling Power Red appts. is an important goal. If eligible, consider a Power Red (PR) appointment.
Benefits a Power Red donation:
1. Smaller Needle.
2. Fewer donation reactions due to less blood volume loss than whole blood donations.
3. Double the amount of treatments provided to patients.
4. Donate 112 days apart rather than 56 days.
Requirements:
TYPE 0, A-, or B-, are Male, 5'1 & 130lbs+ or Female 5'3 & 150lbs+ (based on bone density)
