09/11/2026
On this 25th anniversary of 9/11, I (Pastor Dan Utley) wanted to just pause and remember. We remember the 2,977 people that lost their lives on that fateful day. Included in that number are the 403 first responders that lost their lives running towards the danger and not away. We remember how much our lives changed that day. Before 9/11 I thought the prospect of America being attacked on our soil was impossible, but that changed quickly that day. I remember the difference in security at airports before 9/11. Yes, we didn't have to take off our shoes and could actually go straight to our flight (think of Home Alone). The biggest change that happened for me, was this is the day I placed my faith in Jesus Christ alone for my salvation. Before 9/11 I knew the facts of how one could place their faith in Christ, but never personalized it. Thankfully that day I finally personalized it! Today, as we remember, may we ask ourselves the question where would we be if something like this would happen again. You see everyone that went onto those planes, into the Pentagon or into those towers thought that they would have more time. The tragic thing is that they didn't have that time. Do you know you're on your way to heaven? Do you know Christ as your Savior? If you don't please place your faith in Christ today. Recognize you are a sinner (Rom. 3:23). Recognize that there is a price that must be paid for your sin (Rom. 6:23). Recognize that Jesus paid for your sins on the cross (Rom. 5:8; John 3:16). Place your faith in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9). I am so glad that I did 25 years ago, because my life has completely changed.
