Yesterday Pastor Sam talked about the Nativity story in a sermon titled, "Christmas in July." That God came into the world as a human being means that God understands the human journey intimately--and it also means that by looking at Jesus, *we* can understand God's concerns too. Watch the entire sermon on our YouTube page.

Gifted to the United States from the people of France to commemorate America’s first centennial, the Statue of Liberty still beautifully symbolizes the ideals of freedom: “Give me your tired, your poor, yearning to breathe free.” Through our challenges, in spite of our imperfections, may we keep our eyes fixed on that torch—and remember the broken shackles lying at her feet. It’s a good reminder when facing adversity during this season, or any season.

On this Memorial Day, we give thanks for all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in serving our country, and pray for their families and friends, who may still be grieving. If you’d like to help make Historic Greenville Cemetery beautiful, join us for a clean-up this Saturday, May 30, from 10:00am to Noon. It’s located in the hill behind the mini-mall at 590 Central Park Avenue.

GCC members and friends have been out and about the last few days! This morning, a team helped Feeding Westchester provide more than 300 meals to the community. And on Saturday, 25 of us gathered for a good ol’ fashioned night of bowling. More great times to come!
