Hopefully the good weather stays with us so you all can take care of your loved one’s burial area
Any flower can be planted in front of the grave marker , 18 inches in front. None to the side and back . Any flower is allied as long as it doesn’t spread onto another plot and grow taller than the grave marker . No cedar trees please , they look cute when they are small and then they grow taller than the gravestone and spread out on to the neighbors
The Cemetery has the right to remove any plants that are not in compliance

There will be an exciting event going on May 24 at the Dunstan Cemetery. The people who were at the Poor Farm were buried in unmarked graves . Ron Romano , who does the tours at both Black Point and Dunstan , brought it to the attention of the Historical Society that something needed to be done. The Historical Society provided some of the funds needed for a gravestone.,At 11:00 there will an unveiling ceremony and a short service with the names of the known being read and a moment of silence for those who are unknown. It is open to the public
The pauper section is in the front corner close to the fish market

The water is on at the Cemetery, many thanks to Steve Chamberlin Plumbing for fixing the problem two years in a row now , what would we do without our you
Just as a cautious to all , I put out the watering cans and had a tick on me. Yesterday I was working on Veterans grave stones and had a tick on me ! The deer love the Cemetery and all the buffet it offers

I am planning on opening the Cemetery for Monday morning the 23rd a week earlier than normal . I have received enough calls from folks who want to get the family graves cleaned up from the Holiday decorations

The leaves are being taken care of today , thank you Brackett Lawn care for keeping the Cemetery looking so nice
The first Monday in December there will be a crew trimming and removing dead and overgrown trees , I am sorry for any inconvenience it may cause that one day and possibly Tuesday morning
I have tried to be patient with those who ignore the rules of the Cemetery, particularly those who walk their dogs after being asked not to today two security cameras were installed and a sign warning that they are in use . I did not want to go to that level
As in the past the Cemetery will be open as long as there is no snow and the Wreaths across America wreaths will be displayed as they were last year

As a forgotten part of my message , our arborist will be coming soon with his crew to trim trees and hopefully that will minimize any damage from Winter ice storms , I apologize in advance if you come to a family members grave and they are working close by

The water has been turned off for the Winter season. The Cemetery is busy with family members putting out decorations and Fall flowers , which hopefully will be watered by Mother Nature . If anyone needs water my house is a couple of steps away , and we can fill you up
The Monument people are busy installing gravestones before the ground freezes
More importantly volunteer Kathy O’Brien and husband Tim took advantage of this great Fall afternoon and uprighted 17 gravestones that had fallen over or about to , a big round of applause for our volunteers !! We can’t thank you enough ! Both are experienced in handling the brittle old gravestones, so please don’t come and work on any stone other than your own family one

It is with a heavy heart I must announce the passing of our past President Bob Hall , I have no words that can describe what a nice , pleasant man he was and the work he did for the Black Point Cemetery
May he never be forgotten for his dedication to the Black Piont Cemetery

There was a political sign placed at the Black Point Cemetery today , a Larry Cain running for a Town seat , one would think he would have used more common sense and sensitivity in placing a sign in front of sacred ground , maybe he should rethink running for public office
