After a call to Vilas County Sheriff's department and some discussion, a decision has been made to cancel the service for tonight (Maundy Thursday). The Sheriff's department has advised against any travelling today.

Careful consideration will be given to the service scheduled for tomorrow for Good Friday also. If that service should need to be cancelled, another post will be made tomorrow.

We would like to remind everyone of our Holy Week Services.
They are as follows:
Maundy Thursday on April 2 at 6 pm
Good Friday on April 3 at 6 pm
Easter Vigil on April 4 at 6:30 pm
Easter Sunday: Breakfast at 7:30, Service at 9 am and fellowship after.

The decision has been made to cancel services for this Sunday, March 15, 2026, by the Church Council President. Predictions for Sunday are extremely large snow amounts, along with wind. So far predictions are 16-19 inches on Sunday, with an additional 8-10 inches on Monday.

LENTEN SERVICES -

Wednesday Evening Lenten Services will begin with Ash Wednesday on February 18th.

A Soup Supper will be prior to each service at 5:00pm, with the service beginning at 6pm. These will continue throughout the Lenten season - the last one will be on the Wednesday before Palm Sunday, March 25.
There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for the Soup Suppers.

There may be additional special services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and an Easter Vigil on Saturday.

Watch for more information on those.

*** Update: 12/8/25 Plumbing problem has been addressed, and therefore normal church activities have resumed.

There will be no Sunday Services on Dec. 7, 2025 at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Sayner, WI due to a plumbing issue. Please let SOTL members know that are not on Facebook. An email will be sent out shortly to the membership.
