Dear Lord, you have removed my transgressions in the blink of an eye. You grant me daily renewal in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. You are with me always, in all things. Because I have committed myself to you, I don't need to wear the sins of my past upon me or carry my mistakes with me. I can lay them at your feet, starting anew each morning. Thank you for redeeming me and allowing me to follow you. Amen.

No Fault in Him
“Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. John 19:4-6

Pilate told the crowd gathered outside his judgment hall three times that he found no fault in Jesus. Of course, he found no fault in Jesus because He was the perfect, sinless Son of God. There was no fault to be found in Him. The religious leaders found fault in Jesus because they did not believe that He was the Messiah. They were not convinced by the miracles they had seen Him perform, nor by the words that they had heard Him speak. They found fault in the very fact that He claimed to be the Son of God. It seems that few people that day felt the same as Pilate did. The religious leaders hated Jesus and wanted to get rid of Him. The disciples were disappointed in Jesus because they wanted Him to set up His kingdom and throw off the Roman government. Unfortunately, some Christians today could not truly say that they find no fault in Jesus. They blame the Lord for situations in their lives that make them feel uncomfortable. They blame Him because He has not answered their prayers. Are you blaming God for something in your life today, or can you say that you find no fault in Him at all?

The Danger of a Hardening Heart
The moment you sense your heart growing hard, run to God and ask for help.

Hebrews 3:7-11

The Hebrew people who left Egypt witnessed God’s power firsthand—the plagues, the parted sea, the pillar of fire. Yet when the time came to claim their promised land, they refused to believe God would give them victory over Canaan’s inhabitants. Despite Joshua and Caleb’s passionate pleas, the people rebelled, inventing justifications for their unbelief.

The Lord’s response was sobering: 40 years of wandering in the desert (Numbers 14:33-36). That generation wouldn’t enter the land He had prepared for them. Because this lesson about unbelief and its consequences was so vital, God referenced it again in the New Testament (Hebrews 3:7-11). He didn’t want anyone to repeat such a costly mistake.

How does a heart become hardened? It’s a gradual process that begins with selective belief—hearing God’s Word but not fully accepting it as true. This leads to trying to manage one’s affairs without the Lord’s guidance. Over time, the person ignores the conscience or justifies unscriptural choices. Eventually, the heart becomes so resistant that the Spirit’s voice can’t be heard.

If you sense your heart growing hard, there’s hope. Confess your unbelief to the Lord, and ask Him to restore receptivity to His will.

But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

God, you are like water when I am parched with a thirst nothing else can fill. I drink of your love, and I am reborn with life force, able to see everything in a different light, able to make better choices when issues arise. And we both know they always do. Life is not supposed to always be easy, but with your guidance, I know that when hard times come calling, I can find the energy and wisdom I need to get that extra burst of hope and faith. With you, God, nothing is impossible and all things are achievable.

An Arm of Flesh
“Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.” II Chronicles 32:7-8

Sennacherib and his vast army had invaded the land and surrounded the city of Jerusalem. He wrote letters and sent messengers to King Hezekiah threatening the people and ridiculing them for trusting in God. Hezekiah knew that his army was no match for the host of soldiers with which Sennacherib had besieged the city and that the only hope they had was direct intervention from God. Hezekiah encouraged the people to trust in the Lord. He told the people of Jerusalem that they had the advantage in the battle because there were more on their side than on Sennacherib’s side. Sennacherib was trusting in his huge army, but Hezekiah was trusting in God. Sennacherib had an arm of flesh, but Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem had the arm of God. Hezekiah told the people that the Lord would fight their battles for them. He did not know how God was going to deliver them, but he fully believed that He would. In answer to Hezekiah’s prayer of faith, the Lord killed the entire army of Sennacherib in one night. Our battles are not like what Hezekiah faced, but we all have struggles that we face each day. Are you trusting in the arm of flesh or the arm of God to see you through?

Living Out Our Faith
When sharing our faith, authenticity matters more than eloquence.

1 Peter 1:6-9

True faith is based upon Scripture and embraces its eternal principles. Genuine belief trusts that God is who He says He is and will do everything He has promised. But faith isn't meant to stay hidden-it's to be lived out where others can see it.

How can we share our faith with those around us? Words matter, certainly. We can verbally explain what we believe and why. But our actions often speak even louder. A godly lifestyle often influences people for Christ more effectively than words alone ever could.

Consistency through trials demonstrates the reality of our faith. When difficulties come, the way we respond tells others whether we truly trust God. As we persevere visibly through hardship, what we're sharing is more valuable than gold or silver.

Prayer is another powerful way to influence others. When we bring someone before the throne of the Almighty, we're doing eternal work in those quiet moments. And we're learning for ourselves that God is faithful-even when circumstances look impossible (Hebrews 4:16).

Consider different ways you can live out your faith. And ask God for the wisdom to know where and how to share the good news of Jesus.
