Most of us would say we believe in God.

If someone asked us directly, "Do you believe God exists?" we would answer yes without hesitation. But James confronts us with a deeper question: Do we actually live like God is present?

It's easy to say we believe in God, but James challenges us to consider whether we actually live as if He is involved in our everyday lives.

Do we make plans without seeking His wisdom?
Do we worry as if everything depends on us?
Do we treat our resources as if they belong only to us?

Humility isn't thinking less of yourself—it's remembering that God is present, God is working, and God can be trusted with every part of your life.

This week, invite Him into your plans, your decisions, your work, your relationships, and your future.

Church doesn't start when the service begins.

Most of us treat prayer like a request form we submit to God and wait for a response. But what if the whole point of prayer isn't the answer — it's the closeness? "The purpose of prayer is that we get a hold of God, not of an answer." What would change in your prayer life if you started there?

On Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom — the kind that changed history, and the kind only Christ can give.

May we honor today by loving our neighbors well and walking humbly in the freedom we've been given. Happy Juneteenth.

This week at Illumination Station VBS, we are partnering with our neighbors at Coastal Middle School to collect school supplies for their students!

If you would like to donate, bring any of the following items and drop them off when you arrive this week: Mechanical pencils, sticky notes, clear or mesh backpacks, colored pencils, Expo dry erase markers, 2-pocket folders, wired headphones, Clorox wipes, notecards, water bottles, markers, highlighters, glue sticks, composition books, or Kleenex.

Every donation makes a difference for a student right in our community. Drop-offs are welcome any night this week through Thursday, June 18.

The best week of the summer is here! 💡🌞

Today is the day!! We are SO excited to kick off Illumination Station VBS tonight at Islands Christian Church!

Doors open at 5:30 PM. If you have not registered yet, there is still time — head to islandschristian.info/vbs, and we will see you tonight!

Park at Coastal Middle School on Dolphin Lane or in the church parking lot and come in through the front doors. When you get inside, find your child's lanyard in the lobby — and hold onto that security tag, you will need it at pick-up at 8:30!
