In remembrance of September 11, 2001:

O God, our hope and refuge,
in our distress we come quickly to you...

We come remembering those who lost their lives
in New York, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania...

We come remembering
and we come in hope,
not in ourselves, but in you...

In commemorating this tragedy,
we give you thanks for your presence
in our time of need
and we seek to worship you in Spirit and in truth,
our guide and our guardian. Amen.

When we gather for worship, prayer, study, or service, we’re reminded that we don’t walk this journey alone. Together, we strengthen one another and experience Christ’s presence in powerful ways.

John Wesley considered the gathering for reflection, prayer and learning to be a "means of grace"--vital practices we engage in every day in order to deepen our relationship with God, live out the teachings of Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to grant us renewed hope and strength in our spiritual journey.

Creation in Christ Sunday (aka, Feast of Creation in Christ or Feast of Creation) is a new, ecumenical feast day in the worldwide Christian calendar. In the United Methodist tradition, we do not often use the term “feast day,” but in the wider Christian tradition, a feast is another way of referring to a church holiday, such as Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, and All Saints Sunday.
