🪨 Daily Devotional: The Stone That Was Rolled Away
📖 Scripture:
"And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large." — Mark 16:4 (ESV)
📝 Commentary:
The women arrive at the tomb on the morning of the resurrection. They are coming to anoint Jesus' body. Their focus is on a problem: the stone. It is very large. They have no way to move it. They are discussing who will roll it away for them. But when they arrive, the stone is already rolled away. The problem they were worried about was already solved before they even got there. The unpopular truth is that God often goes ahead of you. He moves the stones before you arrive at the tomb. He prepares the way before you even know you need it. Your worry is about a stone that is already moved. Your anxiety is about a problem that has already been solved.
💭 Reflection:
What stone are you worried about? What obstacle seems insurmountable? What problem are you trying to figure out before you even get there? You are like the women, walking toward the tomb, discussing the stone that is in your way. But God has already gone ahead of you. He has already moved the stone. He has already prepared the way. You are worrying about a problem that does not exist anymore. The stone is rolled away. The tomb is empty. The victory is already won. Your worry is about a past problem. Your anxiety is about a future that God has already prepared. Stop discussing the stone and enter the empty tomb. He is risen. He has gone before you.

God Who Goes Before Me,
I have been worried about stones that are already moved. I have been anxious about obstacles You have already removed. Forgive me for my fear. Help me to trust that You are already ahead of me, preparing the way. I will not discuss the stone; I will enter the empty tomb. The victory is already won. In Jesus' name, Amen.
