Today we marvel at the God who spoke light and life into existence, who formed us in the divine image and crowned us with glory and honor. The whole of creation bears witness to the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, whose love and grace are woven into every corner of the cosmos. Jesus sends us out into that same creation with a great commission: to make disciples, to baptize, to teach, and to trust that he is with us always, to the end of the age.

O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

On this day, the Spirit is poured out, opening the way of life to every people and every place. The breath of God fills the church, sending us out to proclaim, to serve, and to love in ways that renew the world. We pray that this gift would be kindled in us again, that we may share in the life of the Holy Spirit and bear it to the ends of the earth.

It's time for Logue on the Road!

This Sunday Bishop Logue will make his visitation to St. Mark's in Brunswick. Formed in a clapboard building in 1858, the parish has seen a few different iterations of their building. From that first structure on Egmont Street to the current building on Gloucester Street, St. Mark's has seen their space grow with the addition of the nave and chancel in 1892, a ground breaking for their current building in 1911, the parish hall in 1959, and a decade of renovations in the 1980's.

We live in the in-between. Christ has ascended, and yet we wait, praying for the Spirit who will strengthen and guide us. In this time of waiting, we are not abandoned but held in Christ’s own prayer, entrusted to God’s care. We ask not to be left comfortless, but to be made one in him, sustained until his life is fully revealed in us.

It's time for Logue on the Road!

This Sunday Bishop Logue will make his visitation to St. Thomas in Thomasville. Like many of our parishes, St. Thomas has strong ties to the community, and in 2022 when a local United Methodist congregation were displaced because of disaffiliation, they didn't have to look far for a new place of worship. St. Thomas warmly welcomed the new UMC congregation, Grace United Methodist Church, into their campus. Grace has met weekly since 2023, and the two congregations are thriving.
