The mornings are a mix of time to yourself and slow reading of Scripture, and then our favorite Small Creative guides a couple hours of creativity in the afternoon. At any point, if you prefer swinging on a hammock, or dipping your toes in the water, that's welcome. There are no rules; this is just carved-out space to slow down and see beauty. When I ​(Abbie​) began graduate work ​in ​"spiritual formation​ and soul care" ​nearly twenty years ago, th​is ​field was far from ​popular. In fact​, m​any thought my move​ cross country to​ Talbot Seminary in LA ​w​as a move off the deep end​. Alas, it’s been fascinating and beautiful to see the ​Spirit ​awaken many of these formation conversations ​i​n the larger Church in recent years. ​F​ollowers of Jesus seem disillusioned by mental ascents to information, and more desiring of authentic intimacy with and formation toward Christ. ​Micah and I have been thankful over the years for multiple rich and ​s​turdy resources ​and communities pouring into these realms. One of th​ese (and we'll share more) is the Sacred Ordinary Days planner, which ​w​e were introduced to ​in a season​ craving more integration ​between our spiritual lives & ​day-to-day calendar. ​In their words: "We create tools rooted in ancient practices and rhythms but translated with a clean aesthetic, and accessible language. We create courses to help you learn, practice, and connect with kindred spirits. We curate resources that help you fill out your toolkit. Ultimately, we believe that helping people grow in Christ-likeness will build the church and, in turn, the kingdom. The building blocks are sacred, ordinary days."​ So if​ you're looking for a fresh start spiritually​,​ definitely give a gander to their site. We know not what these next 365 days ​will hold, but knowing a ​God who ​can hold us throughout changes everything.

In case you're looking for a unique Christmas gift, our friend Hawa just dropped off a stack of bowls made from Wesley Gardens grasses. About a decade ago, she and her husband were some of Savannah's first refugees, arriving from Sudan with their nine children and little else. We've treasured friendship with them over the years, watching them learn English, find their footing and teach us continually about bravery and sacrifice. (Message us if interested in a bowl; Hawa priced most at $35 or $45 and 100% of the money will go to her.)🎄💚
