(Zechariah 11:17) “Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.”

MORNING INSPIRATION…Here and in verse 16 just before, we see God giving Israel over to the rule of a careless shepherd (king). This shepherd would do them harm and not good. They had rejected Jehovah-God as their Shepherd-king, and now they were given another shepherd whom they would sit under.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…Dear Jehovah my Shepherd, You are the Good Shepherd who forever cares for His sheep. Help me to follow and trust You not only in the green pastures but also through the valley of the shadow of death. No other shepherd can compare to You, Lord, and we Your sheep flee from the voice of strangers, for we know only the voice of our true Shepherd. Amen.

(Psalms 11:7) “ the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.”

MORNING INSPIRATION…God is utterly righteous. He loves righteousness and hates iniquity. His face shines approvingly on those who walk uprightly, but he is angry with the wicked every day. (Psalm 7:11) It is impossible to please God while being unrighteous, both as to outward conduct and the character of one's soul.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…Dear Righteous Father, all of Your decisions and all of Your actions are just. You, Lord, love righteousness and demand it in us. But we are unrighteous by birth; we were conceived and born fallen creatures. We are Your children, wearing the righteousness of Your Son. Help us to live righteously before You and do those things that please You. Amen.🙏🏿

(Leviticus 10:18) “By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.”

MORNING INSPIRATION…If we are lazy and do not make needful repairs on a building, it will decay and fall apart over time. In the same way, the Church cannot stand still doing nothing and expect spiritual progress, nor can an individual Christian. We must be striving after godliness every day.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…Dear Lord, make me a fervent servant, busy for Your Kingdom. Let me rise up and strive after You with all my might. We are all in a fight of faith that we cannot win by sitting idle. Work in us to do Your will and do of Your good pleasure, and let us be a people zealous for good works. Amen.🙏🏿

(Proverbs 10:6) “Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.”

MORNING INSPIRATION…. The wicked are often known by their speech. Though they can hide what is in their heart and speak to cover it up, at some point inevitably, of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. The wicked are violent against God, His truth, and His people; they rage about looking for some person on whom to vent their anger against God.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…. Dear Lord, You have poured down untold blessings of grace upon the head of Your people, but the world is hostile to You, Your Word, and Your children. We walk like Daniel among lions, but You can shut the mouths of the lions. We shine as lights in a pitch-black night, but the darkness cannot overcome the light. We will not fear man, for if God is for us, who can prevail against us? Amen.🙏🏿

(Luke 9:26) “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.“

MORNING INSPIRATION…How unthinkable it is that a mere mortal and sinful man should be ashamed of the very Son of God! How ridiculous that men whose words are full of error and even perverseness should be ashamed of the perfect, holy words that fell from the lips of Christ! And yet, such is often the case. For men are blind to their own condition and to the truth about who Jesus is.

MORNING 🙏🏿 PRAYER…Dear Lord Jesus, may I never be ashamed of You or of Your words. May I never shrink before men to speak Your name in season or to declare Your truths in the right way and time and place. Give me wisdom but also zeal, zeal for Your name and for Your Word. Amen.🙏🏿

I know the post this morning is a little lengthy but it is worth reading. This is what the Holy Spirit placed on my heart this morning.

Let us be careful to stay close to Jesus and not follow false prophets who want to tear Christianity apart.

MORNING INSPIRATION… Jesus warned the people that false prophets would arise and now Paul is doing the same thing. It is important for us to heed this warning as well. The devil works in ways that always seem reasonable. Lies are made to look like truth, and division weakens the whole. Paul goes on to warn that some of those false prophets will come from within the group. One would think that it is easy to distinguish truth from fiction, but it's more difficult than we think. Usually, these lies are hidden in some truth. We think that if part of what we are told is true, then the rest of it must be as well. Media is a perfect example of how this works whether the lie is hidden in a picture, music or written message. Sometimes the message is subliminal. In the old western movies, all the good guys wore white hats and the bad guys wore black. The message? White is good, black is bad. Left-handedness was considered an evil sign at one time. Jesus was portrayed in art as blond and light-skinned even though as a Jewish man from the Middle East, he most likely would have had dark hair and dark skin. Hi**er used false information, lies repeated over and over in the news media of the time to convince people that the Jews were the "murderers of Jesus and should be annihilated." The Bible was misquoted to convince people that slavery was the will of God. Today, justice and morality are victims of the media. According to the media, there is no more sin, the commandments are old-fashioned and we are free to indulge every desire for pleasure whenever and wherever we find it. We spoke of freedom yesterday. Freedom is given so that we can love; it is not license to do whatever we please. Let us be careful to stay close to Jesus and not follow false prophets who want to tear Christianity apart.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…. Almighty and all-knowing God, you have warned us from the beginning of time to listen to you and not be led astray. Keep us close to you and give us the wisdom to be able to separate truth from lies. Amen.🙏🏿

(Nehemiah 9:5)”Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.”

MORNING INSPIRATION…The glorious "name" of God is the full expression of His holy attributes, which are far too exalted for even our highest praise to fully match. His nature is incomprehensively holy and incomparable to anything we know. And yet, we are commanded to praise Him as much as we are able and to acknowledge His infinite greatness.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…Dear Lord God Almighty, Your name is too glorious for me to even begin to comprehend. Your ways are exalted above mine like the heavens above the earth, and I cannot fully understand them. But I praise You, O Lord, with true knowledge from Your Word as to who You are. And I have experienced Your love and power in my life. For that I praise You also. However incomplete, I will praise You with all of my ability. Amen.🙏🏿

(Romans 8:25) “But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

MORNING INSPIRATION…"Hope" implies something future that is guaranteed but that is not yet seen. Men do not hope for that which they already see or possess. (verse 24) It requires the faith and patience as we wait for our hope to be fulfilled. We must run with patient endurance the race set before us before we can claim the prize at the end.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…Dear Lord, You give us true hope. Hope that is based on the surest thing in all the universe, even on Your promise. Give us the faith to hope for things yet unseen; give us the patience to endure all things without losing sight of our hope. You, Lord, are our Hope and our everlasting Reward. Amen…. and Amen 🙏🏿

(2 Samuel 7:22) “Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.”

MORNING INSPIRATION…There is no god like the living God, the great Jehovah. He is not in character as the false ideas of God so prevalent in the world. He is not like mere men. His thoughts are not our thoughts, nor His ways our ways, but His are higher, holier, and infinitely more glorious.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…Dear Lord, there is none like You, not among all the gods of the nations. We cannot compare You to the sons of men and find it an adequate picture of You. We see You revealed in nature, in Your Word, and Your Law in our consciences. You reveal Yourself more and more to Your people as they grow in You. But all eternity will not be enough to fully comprehend Your infinite greatness. Amen.

(1 Timothy 6:18) “That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;”

MORNING INSPIRATION…. What is the last good deed you did? As followers of Jesus, we should follow His example and be good. Our actions and our words should be filled with goodness. Giving to those in need, standing up for injustice, and serving the poor are just some of the good deeds we can practice to glorify the Lord and show others we live according to our beliefs in Christ. Let your good works show people you put your faith in Jesus Christ.

MORNING PRAYER 🙏🏿…Dear God, thank You for giving us the perfect example of love through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Give us opportunities each day to be Your hands and feet while we remain here on Earth. I want to bless others like You have blessed me. I want my life to be a blessing to those in need – not for my own glory but to glorify You, O Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.🙏🏿
