First Presbyterian Church, Savannah Tennessee welcomes, and invites you to come and worship the Most High God every Sunday morning at 9:30am.

First Presbyterian Church began in 1830, and the first building was just east of the Cherry Mansion. In 1878, the church moved to the location across the street, which is now the new city park. The Church finished the present building in 1906. Last Sunday as well as today, Bro. Cameron continued his study from John 3...Last Sunday, the scripture lesson was John 3: 14-21...Jesus was teaching Nicodemus...Jesus was the teacher...Today's scripture was John 3: 22-26...The lesson was Jesus as the bridegroom...John wanted people to follow Jesus instead of himself...The only answer is to rely on Jesus for eternal life...

Today Bro. Cameron continued his study in John...Scripture was John 3: 8-13...Used the "wind" for the illustration..."Wind" translates into Spirit or breath...In verse 8, the wind is invisible but powerful...We have a new birth in Jesus Christ...We are born again and a new Christian...Not everyone will understand, but we should be patient and teach with loving kindness...

Last week Bro. Cameron began his study in John 2...Continuing Jesus' life and ministry...In John 1, we studied the seven titles of Jesus...John 2:1-12 emphasizes Jesus' glory...The 1st miracle of turning the water into wine...His glory was shown at the wedding by being the: (1)Guest (2) Son (3)Host
This was the beginning of his signs and miracles...

Today the scripture was John 2:12-22...It depicts the zeal of Jesus and His glory...

Bro. Cameron continued our study today on the seven titles given to Jesus...Scripture today was John I:50-51...The title given in the Scripture today was "Son of Man"...This title is the one that Jesus announced himself...It was the favorite title of Jesus💗

"Son of Man" is mentioned 84 times in the Gospel...Always mentioned from the mouth of Jesus except 5 times💗

On this cold but beautiful Sunday, Bro. Cameron continued his study from John 1:41-49...Today we learned another title given to Jesus was "King of Isreal"...This translates to mean the hope of the future...Nothing can stop the "King of Isreal"...This title is the most powerful of those previously studied...He ruled with love and compassion and cared for His followers💗

Scripture lesson today was John 1:35-42...Bro. Cameron continued with his study of the different titles of Jesus...Today we studied Jesus known as the "Messiah"..."Messiah means the "Annointed" and "Christ"...Many were so happy to meet the "Messiah" and to witness great things...They totally trusted He was the "Messiah"...They meant for this to be shared with everyone...Christ died for our sins so we could have a relationship with Him💗

Today was "Epiphany Sunday" at our little church...The Epiphany represents the Wise Men following the brightest star in the East to visit Jesus... They dropped everything to follow Him and bring their gifts...Last Sunday, Christmas Day, the Christ candle was lit...Advent was completed...The candles of hope, peace, joy, and love were lit...Today all candles were lit again to represent Epiphany...A beautiful reminder of the REASON for the SEASON...💗

Bro. Cameron continued his study from John today...John 1:29-34...We have studied the different words used to describe Jesus...He was the Word, the Light, the Son of God, and today the "Lamb of God"...He was like a lamb...kind, caring, meek...and like the lamb which was the perfect sacrifice...He takes our sins away...His purpose was/is to seek and save the lost...

Today was the 4th Sunday of Advent...It represented LOVE...Why does God LOVE us??
(1) He created us...We were created in HIS image
(2) He created us to know HIM...He redeemed us from our sins...He LOVES us all💗

Bro. Cameron's scripture lesson today was from Luke 1: 39-56...The topic of the lesson was "The Joy Christ Brings"...Mary had great joy...God had saved her and chosen her to be the mother of the Messiah...The joy that Christ brings is powerful...It is the reason we celebrate...We have JOY in the Lord...

3rd Sunday of Advent today was JOY...This is to remind us of the JOY that comes at Christmas...May Christ put HIS JOY into our hearts today💗

Bro. Cameron had a very good lesson today on "Mary's Faith"...Scripture was Luke 1:26-38...The 1st response of Mary when she was told she would be having a child was: Surprise...Her next response was: Surrender...With God nothing is impossible...Mary's response is a good example for us...We should surrender even though we don't understand the ways of the Lord💗

A wonderful 1st Sunday in December at our "little church"...Week #2 of Advent is PEACE...PEACE is a tranquil state of mind...content with life...rest for the soul...Christ died on the cross for our PEACE...CHRIST is the only one that can give us PEACE...

How do we receive peace??
(1) Repent of our sins
(2) Faith...we must ask for it

It is wonderful to be a child of God and have PEACE💗

Bro. Cameron's lesson today was from Luke 1:5-25...Today's lesson was about Zachariah, the father of John the Baptist...

Some characteristics of Zachariah:
(1) He was a faithful priest as learned in vs. 5
(2) He was a fearful priest as learned in vs. 8
(3) He became a faithless priest as learned in vs. 18...He was questioning what was to become
(4) In the end, he became a favored priest

A wonderful Sunday today at it was the beginning of Advent...Advent represents the weeks leading up to the birth of Christ...Week #1 of Advent was HOPE...HOPE of all Christians...If we believe in Christ, we should have peace and HOPE...What we desire and anticipate is the HOPE of all Christians...Non-Christians are HOPELESS...Betty and Janell lit the 1st Advent candle representing HOPE after Lois Ann had explained the meaning of Advent for those visiting that might not be familiar with Advent💗

Bro. Cameron continued his study today on the book of John concentrating on John 1:15-28...Today's verses studied about John the Baptist...Studied today that Jesus Christ is called the "Son of God"...He is referred as the "Son of God" 9 times...Thus far we have studied from John the following:

(1) Jesus is the LIGHT
(2) Jesus is the WORD
(3) Jesus is the SON OF GOD

Today our new minister, Cameron Vickery, continued his lesson on the book of John...The Lord's Supper was observed as well...Last week we studied how Jesus represents the WORD...Today we studied how Jesus is the LIGHT...In John 1: 4-13, we learn how Jesus is the LIGHT OF LIFE...

Their are 4 elements that are essential to life:
(1) Light
(2) Air
(3) Food
(4) Water

Jesus IS the LIGHT that gives us LIFE...In our life, we can choose to live in LIGHT or darkness (Sin)...Christians strive daily to live in the LIGHT...Satan wants man to stay in darkness...LIGHT represents LIFE and HEAVEN...John was sent as a witness by Jesus Christ to show others the LIGHT...

Majority rejected HIM...They were content with their way of life...In John 1 verses 12 and 13, we have the promise of God that whoever receives the LIGHT, he will enter into the family of God...

We don't have to be spiritually blind...we have a choice...We can live in the LIGHT which is a promise of an eternal home with our Savior💗
