Sermon Message:
Saved, Sanctified, and Filled with the Holy Ghost

Today’s lesson taught that God’s desire for every believer is to be saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost.

Summary:

Saved: We learned that all people are sinners and need to be born again through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Sanctified: We learned that after salvation, God calls us to live holy and be set apart for His use.

Filled with the Holy Ghost: We learned that believers need the power of the Holy Spirit to live right, witness boldly, and serve effectively.

The lesson also showed why this message is still needed today:

Sin still separates people from God.
The world is full of confusion, bo***ge, and spiritual darkness.
Jesus is still the only answer for salvation, transformation, and power.

The main truth of the lesson was this:

God saves us from sin’s penalty.
God sanctifies us from sin’s pollution.
God fills us with His Spirit for holy living and service.

The challenge for today is to ask ourselves:

Am I truly saved?
Am I living a sanctified life?
Am I filled with the Holy Ghost?

In short, today’s lesson was a call to surrender fully to God and let Him do a complete work in our lives.

Whatever Happened to Hell?

Many people today live as though God does not exist, as though there will never be a day of reckoning. Pride, wealth, power, and self-rule have convinced many that they are above correction, above truth, and even above God. But Scripture makes it plain: we were created by God and for God. Our lives are not our own, and every good thing we have comes from His hand.

The Bible warns us not to be deceived: God is not mocked. A person will reap what they sow (Galatians 6:7). Those who live in rebellion against God—practicing lies, deceit, greed, sexual immorality, hatred, theft, and unrepentant sin—should not comfort themselves with the false idea that judgment will never come. Sin may appear hidden for a season, but the truth will one day be revealed before a holy God.

Hell is not a myth, a scare tactic, or a metaphor invented by men. It is a real expression of divine judgment. Jesus Himself spoke about hell more than many want to admit. He described it as a place of outer darkness, weeping, and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:12; 22:13; 25:30). He warned of “hell fire” and called it a place to be feared more than death itself (Matthew 10:28; Mark 9:43-48).

The Bible teaches that hell was originally prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). It was never God’s desire that people perish. God created mankind for fellowship, worship, obedience, and love. From the beginning, His desire was that man walk with Him in spirit and in truth. But because of sin, rebellion entered the world, and death passed upon all men (Romans 5:12). Humanity’s wickedness became great, and God, being just and holy, must judge sin.

We must also understand the distinction the Bible makes between hell and the lake of fire.

Hell: Often understood as the temporary place of punishment for the wicked dead before the final judgment. In Luke 16:19-31, Jesus describes the rich man in torment after death, conscious of his condition and unable to escape.
The Lake of Fire: This is the final and eternal place of judgment. Revelation 20:14-15 says that death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is called the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

This means final judgment is not imaginary. It is certain. There is coming a day when every person will stand before God (Hebrews 9:27). Every secret thing will be brought into judgment (Ecclesiastes 12:14). Every careless word will be accounted for (Matthew 12:36). God is loving, but He is also holy. He is merciful, but He is also just.

Yet this message is not only about warning — it is also about mercy.

God has not left mankind without hope. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save sinners. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again so that those who repent and believe in Him might not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 10:9-10). God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but desires that they turn and live (Ezekiel 18:23; 33:11).

So the real question is not simply, “Whatever happened to hell?” The question is: why do so many ignore the warnings of God? Why do people live as if eternity is not real?

One day, money will not matter. Status will not matter. Titles will not matter. Excuses will not matter. Only one thing will matter: were you reconciled to God through Jesus Christ?

Now is the time to repent. Now is the time to turn from sin. Now is the time to humble yourself before God. Because once this life is over, judgment follows.

A Prayer for Faith and Hope in 2026

Heavenly Father,

As we step into this new year, we lift our hearts to You with gratitude and expectation. You are the God of new beginnings and unending mercy. Lord, we ask that You fill us with unwavering faith and overflowing hope for all that lies ahead.

For our families and friends, we pray Your blessing and protection. Strengthen our bonds with love and unity. May Your presence be felt in our homes, guiding our choices and filling our days with peace. As Your Word says:
"But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15)

For those who struggle — the poor, the hungry, the lonely, and the forgotten — we ask Your comfort and provision. Inspire us to be Your hands and feet, showing compassion and generosity. Remind us, Lord, that:
"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done." (Proverbs 19:17)

For the sick and suffering, we ask for Your healing touch. Bring strength to bodies, peace to minds, and hope to hearts. Let them feel Your nearness and love, for You promise:
"But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD." (Jeremiah 30:17)

For all who feel weary or discouraged, renew their spirits. Let hope rise up, knowing that You are with us through every trial. Give us courage to face the unknown, trusting Your perfect plan. We hold fast to Your promise:
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Lord, may this year be filled with Your light. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), trusting that with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

We commit 2026 to Your care, believing that Your love never fails.

In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.🙏🏽❤️🙌🏽

Even in this season of “not enough,” remember that God is always enough.

When you’re facing loss, uncertainty, or heartbreak, it’s easy to feel abandoned or hopeless. But you are never alone—God walks with you through every valley. His promises remain true, even when circumstances shift and life feels overwhelming.

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” While you may not see the way forward right now, trust that God is working behind the scenes. He is your provider, your comforter, and your healer.

In moments of fear or doubt, pour out your heart to Him. He listens. He cares. He collects your tears and understands every worry. In Psalm 34:18, we’re reminded, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Let your faith be your anchor. Even though you may not have all the answers or resources today, the Lord can make a way where there seems to be no way. He can turn ashes into beauty, mourning into dancing, and lack into abundance—sometimes in ways we never expect.

Hold on to hope. Keep praying, keep believing, and know that this difficult chapter is not the end of your story. God’s love surrounds you, and He has good plans for your future.

You are seen. You are loved. You are not forgotten.

Prayer of Comfort:
Heavenly Father,

We come to You in this season of difficulty, feeling the weight of loss, uncertainty, and need. Lord, You know every burden, every fear, and every tear. We ask that You surround us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Father, for those who have lost jobs, homes, relationships, or hope—remind them that You are their Provider and Sustainer. Where there is lack, we pray for Your provision. Where there is sorrow, bring comfort. Where there is fear, pour out Your perfect love that drives out all fear.

Your Word says in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

We place our trust and faith in You, Lord. In the precious and holy name of Jesus, Amen.🙏🏽❤️🙌🏽
