This past Sunday Pastor Todd’s sermon focused on this: Sanctified Suffering.

He broke down our suffering into three categories, Suffering is Inevitable, Suffering is Intentional, and Suffering is Inspirational.

We serve a God with a plan and a purpose. Everything he puts us through is for our own good and strength. To give examples of this, we dug into the story of Job and the trials he went through. Even through it all, he still worshipped God.

God intended this suffering for Job’s good. He used Job to show that the suffering is necessary and you can either suffer with God, or without. It was necessary for Job to endure hardship as discipline and in the end, Job was transformed.

Regardless of who we are, it rains on the just and the unjust. We are the only ones who get to choose who we keep our eyes upon.

Lord, as we step into this weekend, quiet our hearts and remind us that we don’t have to carry everything on our own. Give us rest when we are weary, peace where we are anxious, and joy in the little moments.

Protect our families, guide our steps, and draw our hearts closer to You. May we be refreshed in Your presence and ready to love others well.

Let this weekend be filled with Your peace, Your goodness, and Your presence.
