First Baptist Church of Savannah

First Baptist Church of Savannah We are an inclusive family of faith seeking to follow Jesus, who turned no one away. We believe Jesus treated everyone with a spirit of love and equality.

First Baptist Church is a welcoming congregation located in historic downtown Savannah, Georgia. Therefore, we accept every individual without regard to age, gender, race, ethnicity, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation, or socio-economic status. We affirm all persons as created in the image of God. At First Baptist Church, individuals can find

family, families can find community, the injured can find healing, and all can seek truth and justice. We labor together in love for each other, our community, our world, and our God. No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcomed, you are accepted, and you are loved.

We love our partners at Shelter from the Rain!

💗 A heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Libby and First Baptist Church of Savannah for your continued generosity and support of Shelter From the Rain! ☂️

We are incredibly grateful for your recent donation of diapers and baby supplies for the single mothers and children we serve. These essential items help ease the financial burden on families while ensuring their little ones have what they need to stay healthy, clean, and comfortable. 👶🏽🍼💕

Thank you for continuing to believe in our mission and showing up for our families. Your generosity helps us provide hope, stability, and practical support to single mothers throughout our community. 💗

This week, we received the loveliest thank-you note from Shelter from the Rain, our August mission partner. Pictured here is Libby McIntosh delivering the generous donations collected by our congregation.
What a privilege and a blessing it is to be part of a church family that seeks to live and love with intention—not keeping Christ’s presence contained within our walls, but carrying that love outward into our beloved community. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously and helped us put our faith into action. This is what it looks like to be the Church together.

Big thanks to Tami & Randy Litton for researching and tracking down the best option to improve the sound quality in our Reception Area! And a hearty thank you to Ernie Lee for helping them install these noise-reducing wall tiles! When you see them this weekend, make sure to show them appreciation for all the work they do behind the scenes to care for our church.👏🏽

What happens when conspiracy, fear, and faith become entangled—and how can people of faith respond with wisdom, compassion, and courage? In Reality in Ruins, Dr. Jared Stacy explores the history of conspiratorial thinking within American evangelicalism and the anxiety that often fuels it. He examines how conspiracy theories have shaped not only our political and religious landscape, but also our families, churches, communities, and relationships with one another. Join us on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm in Lewis Hall as we explore this timely subject through a scholarly and historical lens. Together, we’ll consider how conspiratorial thinking has influenced the trajectory of Christianity in America, how we can recognize and resist it in our own lives, and how we might continue to love and remain in relationship with those who have been drawn into it. Come curious, come ready for thoughtful conversation, and come prepared to wrestle together with what truth, faithfulness, and love require of us in a fractured world. Please contact Amber Jones for more information.

We hope you’ll join us for worship this Sunday at 11 AM. There’s not much better than gathering with loving and welcoming people, under a canopy of ancient oaks in the heart of Savannah, to worship the Maker of All in our beautiful, historical sanctuary. We’re saving a spot just for you!
