Remember, whether you’re hungry to eat, hungry to serve, or just curious to learn more, the Alliance is hosting a free meal this Wednesday, June 17, from 12 to 2 at First Baptist Church in Cornelia, and you can reserve a plate of food by texting us at 470-252-8653.

The people the world often overlooks matter deeply to God, and one way we measure our faith is by how we treat them.

That’s why three churches in White County and three churches in Habersham County have come together to form the Matthew 25 Alliance.

Since February, we've opened warming centers, shared meals with neighbors, and connected people to resources. We don't put a sermon between anyone and a hot meal or an altar call between anyone and a safe place to sleep.

We're not asking who you are. We're asking whose you are. And we believe every person belongs to God.

If you're hungry to eat, hungry to serve, or simply curious to learn more, join us for a free community meal Wednesday, June 17, from noon to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Cornelia.

This past Sunday, on Ascension Sunday, we remembered that the disciples were told not to stand staring into heaven waiting for Jesus to return.

The church is called to something more.

We are called to become Christ’s body in the world — healing, loving, grieving, serving, and staying present with one another.

The Spirit has been given.
The mantle has passed.
And the story continues through us.

What if we’ve been hearing this passage through the wrong word all along?

In John 14, Jesus never says “obey.” He says “keep.”

Not the language of domination. Not fear. Not coercion. The language of trust. Of relationship. Of a shepherd who stays with the flock and invites us to care for one another the same way.
