Even if you can't fly, or have super-strength, or leap buildings in a single bound, you can still be a hero by loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself!

Thank you to everyone who came to our joint VBS celebration worship service today at Living Hope. Here's a few pictures from the morning's fun. Thank you to Thrivent for an Action Team grant to help with the cost of the bounce house from James Mae Rentals - it was definitely a hit with the kids today! Also, thank you to Advent Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, WI for lending us their snow cone machine!

Join us this Sunday, June 14, at 10:00 am for a joint worship service at Living Hope Lutheran Church in Saukville. Worship will include VBS kids sharing some of the songs they learned, then there will be a free lunch for everyone along with family activities like a bounce house, snow cones, and more!

Here are some pictures from Tuesday and Wednesday of our Do Something Superheroes VBS. Thank you to Ozaukee Family Services for being Tuesday's Community Heroes, and to Mrs. Dimmer from Lincoln Elementary for coming on Wednesday to show us how teachers and educators are Community Heroes as well! On Wednesday, we also practiced loving our neighbors by participating in a service project of assembling 72 school kits for Lutheran World Relief!

In this Sunday’s Gospel reading from Matthew 9, the religious leaders criticize Jesus for spending time with sinners and even (gasp!) eating with them. Jesus responds, “I have not come to call the righteous but sinners.” How often do we fall into the trap of thinking we need to be “good enough” to come into God’s presence? Maybe you've heard people worry, “If I step into the door of the church, the roof will collapse!”

But sinners are exactly who Jesus is seeking. Jesus calls no one but sinners! And he invites them (us!) to follow, to leave behind our sin and receive forgiveness and new life. Good news indeed!

Join us for worship at 10:30 this Sunday at Living Hope! We’ll be welcoming new members into our congregation, then immediately after the service, we’ll be clearing out all the chairs from the sanctuary for VBS. Please pray for the kids, leaders, Here We Grow staff, and volunteers (over 100 people!) who will be part of our “Do Something Superheroes” this week. Thank you to everyone who has so generously donated money and supplies to make this week possible!

You might remember Breaking the Chains from last year’s hygiene kit VBS service project.
