Four important announcements:

1. Crew, Sr high youth group is meeting tonight at 6 @ Centre for Christ. (So, now).

2. Tomorrow, Monday the young adult group plans to have supper and a theology on tap kind of event from 5-7ish at Crazy J's bar and restaurant.

3. That same night staying at 7, Fr Rick will give the second talk of his series on prayer at St Alexius in West Union.

4. This will be the first video hosted on our new, combined page for the whole ACC (no more missing content because we forgot to post to both, no more limiting livestreams to only one half of the ACC). https://m.facebook.com/Parishes-on-the-Prairie-ACC-104752701427011/

All right all right, cool ya jets. My timeline is starting to blow up so I've got to pass this on. Please read the caption of this picture in addition to my words below.

He's not equating civil union with marriage, which would be an impossible changing of teaching, he's trying to encourage ways of caring for people on the margins.

I don't agree with promoting the ways that he does here, I think it's confusing and destructive for people to be able to so easily think of civil union and marriage as identical, but I do tolerate the idea that civil law can establish civil conditions for whatever relationships selected, even if I don't think it's a good idea for them to do so.

In a documentary that premiered Wednesday in Rome, Pope Francis called for the passage of civil union laws for same-sex couples, departing from the position of the Vatican’s doctrinal office and the pope’s predecessors on the issue.
