“The law of Moses was unable to save man from their sins. If anything, it exposed the futile man's attempts to live righteously, in their own power. Before Jesus Christ died and rose for mankind, we were all slaves to our sinful nature. We could not be saved. But because of what Christ did for us, we have been empowered above the power of sin. It is through Jesus Christ we are saved, redeemed, and empowered to live as children of God”

Take-aways for 3rd Sunday After Pentecost June 14, 2026

1. “The Power of Binding” Texts: Deut.6:5-9 and 11:18-20; Acts 17:6; Ephesians 5:1; 1 Cor.13:12 and 2 Cor. 3:18

2. The spiritual lesson is that if we want to be pure and truly beautiful, we must hang out with the pure One.

3. Where do we find the glory of God today? In our secret place. Where do we find the gold? We find the heaven, the element of heaven, the substance of heaven in our secret place.

4. We have been led step by step into the presence of the Lord for a reason, and the reason is it’s actually a power, a weapon against all that’s happening in the world.

5. Sometimes, people who are for all the changing everything, you know, changing morality, will say, “We’re on the right side of history.” Listen, I’m not interested in being on the right side of history. I just want to be on the right side of God because history is going to be gone.

6. Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount in Matt. 7:24-27 “The one who hears my words and does them will become like the man who built his house on the rock and when the storm came and the flood, it just stood there immovable.” Jesus is saying that when we do the Word, the Word becomes part of our whole being.

7. My beloved, there is no neutrality. We cannot teach and embrace what is not Him and expect to receive His anointed blessings! When we are not with Christ, we are being influenced by that which is not God. The way, the truth, the life, which is only in Yeshua, the Christ! He leads us to His Word through prayer, praise, and worship into His presence.

“It can become very easy to point out other people's flaws and shortcomings, instead of focusing on the areas in our lives that require improvement. Jesus spoke against this behavior, adamantly. As Christians, we aren't to be self-righteous, seeking to point out other people's mistakes and becoming blind to our own. We are to be humble – even when correcting people – and realize that just as someone has made a mistake, we are very capable of doing the same thing.”

“After a long, hard struggle, the walls of Jerusalem had finally been rebuilt by Nehemiah and the remnant of Judah. But before the dedication ceremony for the wall, the priests and Levites who would lead in it made themselves ceremonially pure. And they also purified the people who attended, and the walls, and all the gates of the wall.”

“After the people of Israel had sinned and asked for a king that they might be like all the other nations, instead of rejoicing that Jehovah-God was their king, the Lord sent a thunderstorm that made them afraid. And they feared because they had asked for a king. But Samuel assured them they must continue to follow the Lord even now that he had given a king to be over them.”

Take-aways for 2nd Sunday After Pentecost June 7, 2026

1. “Faith Is Like Riding A Bicycle” 1 Samuel 3:1–10, Psalm 139:1–6, 13–18; Mark 2:23–3:6-7.

2. God Speaks in the Ordinary. In 1 Samuel 3, the boy Samuel hears a voice in the night. God often speaks in ways we might overlook—through Scripture, through the quiet of prayer, through the counsel of a friend, or even through the interruptions in our day.

3. God’s Law is for Life, Not Burden. In Mark 2:23–3:6, Jesus challenges the Pharisees’ rigid interpretation of the Sabbath. He reminds them that “the Sabbath was made for humankind, not humankind for the Sabbath.”

4. God Knows Us Completely. Psalm 139 paints a breathtaking picture: “O Lord, you have searched me and known me.” God knows our thoughts, our fears, our hopes. He knit us together in the womb.

5. My beloved, the Second Sunday after Pentecost reminds us that the Spirit given at Pentecost is still at work—calling us, guiding us, and empowering us to live in God’s freedom.

6. A Call to Action-- may we, like Samuel, be ready to say “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” Ask where your heart has grown rigid. Choose healing over performance. Stand with the hurting. Don’t be afraid to disrupt unhealthy religion.

“There is an old distinction between "profession" and "confession" which seems to apply here. To profess is to simply make a claim with your mouth to be a Christian; to confess is to give witness from the heart of what you know to be true. Those who confess Christ and are not afraid to do so before other men, will have their reward from Him.”

“To whom does Jesus give "rest?" To those who are burdened down with their load of sin and who, however much they may labor to keep God's Law, cannot do so. Jesus gives rest to the sinful soul, even the most vile of all men, if only it rests in Him.”
